Seriously do not take a class with her. I saw her poor ratings signing up for the class but figured since I had a strong calculus background I'd be fine. She doesn't use examples, iclickers make class mandatory. Completely unclear. If you can avoid her, do it. Even if it means you have to wait another quarter to take the class.

Overall terrible teacher. Makes mistakes in class, difficult homework and "projects" that only serve to confuse students. Clearly inexperienced and unaware of effective teaching methods. Dont take her class unless you want to be frustrated and learn everything by yourself

Nice person but does not explain the math well. WEb works problems almost have nothing to do with lecture. Forced to learn everything yourself

Very poor lecturer. Makes lots of mistakes. Homework problems have almost nothing to do with the lectures. She really cannot teach math.

She makes a lot of mistakes during class and isn't clear a lot of the time. The tests aren't bad and she does give a significant amounts of points for clicker questions, hw, and discussion problems. But in general, it's a pretty boring class.

Easy easy easy tests. Very Hard discussions problems and hard homework. Horrible teacher. The class is actually very easy, but the fact that she cannot teach makes everything 3 times harder. Complicates everything.

I saw some comments before i signed up for the class n they almost stopped me fr taking this class.Thank goodness that i chose to take this class.She makes mistakes,so what?Everyone makes mistakes and she only makes SIMPLE mistakes.I was from 3C so it was hard for me but i liked it.Sadly i cant take it next quarter cuz i will have 5 classes :(

Knows math very well and passionate about it. Facilitates class interaction and participation. Office hours are very helpful.

She made mistakes frequently, which made the class more confusing. Easy HW, but hard discussion problems. The Midterms final are kind of tough but if you attend office hours it'll be easier. I got C's in both midterms and an A on the final. the curve, though makes it easier to pass the class.

Really nice lady, but made the simplest mistakes daily which resulted in the class correcting her. Not good at math, I was hoping to learn from the most basic UCSB math class but I'm even more in the dark now. Tough homework, tough midterms and tough final. Retaking this class, hopefully with a different professor otherwise theres no hope.

She may make simple mistakes when it comes to simple problems. But she knows how to get all the hard material through. But beware though, the midterm is harder than the homework given, and the final is just terribly difficult. Though the grading scale will help you get past that.

horrific prof. extremely unclear and really unhelpful. she is nice and tries to explain things but is just terrible. she makes constant mistakes and is corrected by the class multiple times per problem. rather disorganized- forgets things or gets confused often. try to avoid her if you can. use the book to explain tricky concepts

Not a very good teacher, didn't get a lot of the concepts across very well. She spends too much time trying to explain proofs rather than showing the class how to do different types of problems from each section. A lot of the time there would be problems on the homework that she never even talked about in class. Made a lot of mistakes during lectur

no tricks on the exams - predictable and straightforward. pay attention in lectures. Like the person said below, people don't respect her in class.

Great teacher. A lot of students said she didn't get the concepts across, but no one made an initiative to go to her office hours! Everytime I went I got one on one tutoring which was really helpful. The days that I wasn't understanding was just due to myself zoning out in lecture!

Terrible lecturer, made way too many mistakes and was not respected at all by class. Tests were straightforward and predictable but her failure as a teacher could not make up for them. The only way you will learn is through the book.
