the best teacher and friend. misunderstod. he always wore the same clothes it seemed, but he just bought 6 or 7 of the same thing. hung his PhD. in his toilet. Very funny and kind gentleman.

He had throat surgery and it makes him incredibly hard to understand. Not to mention the fact that he mocks people who asks questions even when they're valid. On the upside, I did get all my math homework done in his class, offsetting the bad grade he gave me.

The man did not teach.... All I remember from his class was that he talked about HAM SANDWICHES all day! Terrible professor!!

Good teacher, I understood all lectures when I did attend and didnt fall alseep. I love how he clowns people that ask reeeeaaally stupid questions.

If you want an A, don't go to class, just read the book and know it. He's easy, and if you are really interested in Chemistry, try to avoid his class because he's there to teach people who have never taken it before and are dumb.

If you want to learn chemistry really well, don't take Harris, only take VanKoppen. But if you can read a book and want an A, take Harris. Some thought he was rude or mean but it was just his sense of humor that i loved.

His lectures are confusing and he's bitter about the chem is taught in highschool. Read the book and do the problems. Sad he got cancer and had to leave halfway through fall quarter 04.

David is highly intelligent and applies this to his realistic views of the world. Plus, he buys me coffee!

Prof Harris is the best chem teacher i ever had, i dont know what all you other people are thinking. i never ever understood chem or stoichimetry at all, until his class. he may be kinda grumpy, but he knows how to teach. study for his tests tho, its hard without notes!

Kinda mean to students who ask questions. Hates being wrong or questioned. Lectures are sometimes confusing and he is stubborn about his way of teaching and performing his stoichiometry. Take CLAS: it will help alot! Midterm was hard...study everything...

Doesn't explain very well... go to office hourse, take CLAS with the course, read and do all of the problems, then getting a B or better shouldn't be a problem. Typical UCSB teacher... good at research... bad at teaching.

Everything about Harris not allowing notes and having that curve is true. However, last quarter, midway through the year, he abolished calculators on the tests. Fortunately he did a lot of adjusting of the types of questions to make them doable.

Horrible old bitter man!!.. He is useless and makes students feel dumb.. avoid taking his class!!

Doesn't give out sample midterms or finals. If you want to learn take Van Koppen and if you want an easy grade take ****, avoid Harris.

Harris was extremely unhelpful, rude, and overall a mean and bitter old man. NEVER ask a question!!!

Professor Harris is a very unreasonable person. His lectures are worthless at best, I have taught myself everything from reading the book. His no notes on tests philosophy is bad, and all the other chem teachers agree. I advise not taking his class.

I thought his tests were very fair. His notes on the board are confusing and he teaches as if we know what he's talking about. Sometimes he makes people who ask ?s in lecture feel stupid.

Good lectures. Tests are on the most basic stuff. Dry humor, can be funny sometimes.

I worked my ass of in his class and still got a bad grade. His tests are without any notes and no formulas so you must memorize everything! His grading system is what sucks the most, 10% A's 25% B's, 25% C's ect. NOT FAIR!!!!

This guy is garbage. If anyone actually wants to learn something steer clear from him. He says everything on his tests come from lecture, i say BULL SH*#!!!! I took **** last quarter and as bad as HE is i'd even take him again over this guy.
