He's a little wierd but funny and SO much nicer than Bruice. I took him after having Bruice for a quarter and he was in everyway superior! He's pretty spicy for an old man!
I tried so hard to pass this class and I didn't! I never understood what he was saying. He blabbed too much and wanted an explanation for EVERY answer. Should have dropped his class.

I'm a bio major, but definitely not an "idiotic" one, and I agree with the poor reviews. This man's practice test is from the 70s! Sure, it was the same as the final, but regurgitating info isn't learning. He really like phenol. Material seriously needs to be updated, along with his office and clothes. Hes like Encino man.
If you understand p-chem extremely well, then all the applications and computer data will make sense. If not, then you will just come out of this class clueless. However, he does try to help and he grades rather easy.
The only people who don't like him are the idiotic biology majors who are too stupid to learn anything with out being spoon fed. I think he's an excellent teacher.
I don't know why everyone says he's horrible at teaching, he's really not. His lectures of concise, and straight to the point. He even holds review session before exams--be glad he gives you a practice exam because you can definately go off of that. I'd recommend taking his class with CLAS.
This guy is ridiculous. He's one of the worst teachers I've ever had. Not helpful to students at all. Goes off on tangents constantly. I also heard about one time when he was wearing shorts and put his foot up on a chair while talking... the whole front row saw his balls! Scaaaaary....
i'd take aue over bruice any day. he's a better teacher, explains things better, and his tests are a million times easier. the midterms and final are exactly like the practice tests that he hands out
At the first lecture he looks like some sort of mad scientist, and wears sandals everyday (don't look down). I found his lectures to be fairly informative, but he could get off track to things he was interested in, which weren't tested. Tests are reasonable. Sit in front, he'll like you more.
Aue may be a creepy person and ineffective professor, but his sweaters are awesome. And the thing where he runs out of air...that's just funny.
Terrible teacher, really really creepy. If you even go to class, sit in the way back in the middle of the row, you'll see why! The class itself is pretty easy, his quizzes are stupid and hard, but his final is EXACTLY the practice final he gives you. It's ridiculous and cheating is so easy too.
This guy is crazy. He is the epitome of all mad scientists. When he talks he forgets to breath and it sounds like someone is standing on his stomach as he finally gasps for air. He is extremely difficult. I went from getting an A in the first 2 qtrs, to a C+ in his class. Avoid if possibly.
What a joke! He gave us a practice exam, told us to work it out... then he just gave us the exact same test on the final... If you didn't get an A in this class- you must have done no work. He's a bad teacher but the class is easy
Ridiculously high expectations of students. Doesn't curve (even w/a class avg. of 57/110). Lectures extremely disorganized. Good luck.
He sucks, he is the mad scientist trying to get back at the world because he got beat up in high school
he ****en sucks
Aue sucks. Dont sit up front or you cant go to sleep and he might flash you and/or scare you with his black toes. Tests are tough and detailed. He also doesnt curve. Good luck
his lectures are all over the place and he doesn't make sense. his notes are horrible and he has nasty toes up front. he tries to finish a long sentence when he's running out of breath!! study hard for this exams!
Lectures are very unclear, tests are too hard and course is just overwhelming in general. I don't see how this guy is still teaching at UCSB. It seems nobody I've ever talked to likes him at all. Avoid at all costs!
This guy is retarded, goes over very dumb stuff and exams on something totally different bad at explaning how to do IR and NMR's, a very ez concept, I just stayed at home and read the book and did just fine, i'd recomend people do the same.
