Professor Grigoryan is definitely the best math professor I have ever had, and might be the best professor in general I have ever had. He single handedly made Math interesting to me. He is super helpful during office hours, and even though the class material is difficult, he finds a way to make it understandable and fun.

Hot professor with cuteness and a sense of humor, very reasonable and sophisticated with the math knowledge

One of my favorite professors! He works hard to make sure students understand the material, and he is generally cool person. I thoroughly enjoyed his undergrad and graduate PDEs classes.

I have mixed feelings about the professor. His shyness may make you feel as though he doesn't like you. His lectures aren't terribly engaging, but the material for the class wasn't terribly exciting either. I would think carefully before taking him again simply because I couldn't say whether or not I enjoyed his class.

Sadly its a bit uncommon here to have profs apt at teaching both lower & upper division material, yet he IS. For 124A^124B he typed up Latex lecture notes & homework solutions; I would have gladly paid more for his notes than the text. Is he difficult? Yes but certainly NOT unfair. Given that you put in effort, he ensures you understand material.

Kind of a shy guy, but solid professor. Very clear explanations, not just some genius dude that writes hieroglyphics on the board. First half of class is just a review of math 8. Midterm is 40% of grade (half of that is take-home). Final is 40% of grade (half of that is take-home as well). If you need 117, take it with Grigoryan.

This is the kind of professor who really wants to teach. He will type out lecture notes in neat PDF format and post them upon the website. Friendly and helpful after class.

such a good teacher. his voice is slightly monotonous so it was hard for me to stay awake when i was tired but its soo worth it if you do. definitely take this class.

A professor I would definitely recommend. Very thorough and answers questions clearly. Always goes over any homework questions during lectures. Exams are fair and partial credit is always given. If you attend lecture you will do well, and do the practice tests because they are a great preview of what material will be on the exams.

Such a nice guy! Go to lectures and CLAS and you will have no problem with understanding the material. Homework got difficult near the end, but working with other students made the load a lot easier. He really wants to help students learn, and the tests are all pretty predictable since he gives out practice tests. Easy class if you do the work.

Viktor is a stud. He keeps the class fun and really helps you learn. I liked him as a teacher from day 1. Take his class, its worth it.

Loved him! That's hard to say for a mathematics course.. He's quirky, makes you laugh & teaches all at the same time. His examples & lectures are very clear/concise. He puts forth an A+ effort to make sure students understand concepts. Exams are fair & follow practice exams. If I could have him as a prof. for every bus. math class I'd be stoked! :)

I really, really liked him. He's very clear on explaining things, not at all condescending, gives exams much like his practice exams, and is very willing to help. All makes for an excellent professor! I would take him again if I could.

Quirky yet very likable professor. Teaches in a fairly straightforward way. Got a little confusing at times but the TAs and CLAS cleared it right up. Practice exams were great preparation. Tests had some new/difficult questions but I was always able to get at least partial credit. Overall great professor

He seems a little new to teaching, but is very smart, and his classes (34A-B) are pretty easy. He gives out multiple practice exams for both the midterms and the final, and prepared the class well for the real exams. He gives examples of how all the equations have any significance to real life, and I actually feel that I learned something useful!

Helpful, funny, knows how to introduce integral calculus in a straightforward and clear fashion, while getting through it quick and painlessly.

MATH3 . 15 Years Ago

He is a good teacher but he has a habit of giving exotic questions that stump the student at a certain interval of solving the equation...I understood how to do everything...The final was easy if he had given us enough time...I lost so many points because i didn't finish not because i did not know how to do it.

I took Math 34a with him and since then I think he is a good professor. Still, I think he has improved so much from 34A-34B. He started giving practice exams which are really helpful. He is always willing to explain and help students.

Great class. amazing prof. His practice exams are like his test so make sure you do them and you will get a good grade!

This is an awesome class to take, especially if you are naturally good at math. Grigoryan is awesome. Really funny. There are 3 tests total: 2 midterms and the final. Each test is 5 questions. Homework is due once a week, 10-20 problems. I'll miss grigoryan the most!

Pretty Good math teacher. You can tell he knows what he's talking about.

MATH3A . 15 Years Ago

Its a math class. Dry, but if you go to lectures and ask questions he tries to help. Homework is due once a week and he gives you practice tests to study. These are very similar to the actual test. 3 tests total. Overall, decent math teacher, with little personality, at least that he shows to the class. But seems like a nice guy.

the way homework is done in this class is ridiculous. really a bad system. don't really know what to study for for exams, he also has a very convoluted way of explaining things.
