Great professor and great class! She had high expectations but not unreasonable ones. As long as you did the reading and went to lecture, it is very easy to succeed. Perhaps one of the most intensive classes I have ever experienced but worth it on every level.
LOVED HER! She knows what she is talking about, I didn't have to do any reading because she explains everything very clearily in her powerpoints. As long as you attend lecture, and study your notes you'll do well. She wants you to succeed and does not throw any surprises at you.
I thoroughly enjoyed this class. Clear slides which covered readings very well, quizzes are a great indication of what will be on test. TAs grade pretty easy, and its just a midterm, paper and final, with 10 fairly easy quizzes (lowest 2 dropped). She's funny and also a great lecturer. Brought in guest lecturers which supplemented material well.
Thoroughly enjoyed taking Pol S 6 with her. Very clear lectures and made the material interesting. Not an easy class, with intensive reading, but would highly recommend!
Great lecturer who has a great, dry sense of humor. Anyone who gets offended by her, needs to get some thicker skin - she is a great professor! She definitely has a tendency to be biased, however she is a great teacher to take for an introductory poli-sci class
It's not an easy GUT class but it's really interesting. She's a little intimidating but a VERY good lecturer. Her slides are great and manageto be comprehensive and concise at the same time. Basicaly, she's a strong prof who made the class interestin.
She is rude and condecending. I don't understand why she teaches if she hates students. She is soooooo dry and boring. She made comparative politics the most boring class I have ever taken. Not only is she rude to students but she is so unpleasant in her daily life. It is horrible being around her.
I hate her. She yelled at me in front of the whole class. Terrible teacher. NO respect for students. Maybe I caught her on a bad day, but nonetheless should not have publicly chastised me. We all make mistakes.
Really nice and understanding, will work with students with no hesitation. Class was super easy. Take her class, you won't regret it.
AMAZING teacher! She's my favorite professor at UCSB! Go to her office hours! She's super nice and friendly and explains everything!
Loved this class, even though it was difficult. She is VERY straightforward, which is refreshing after scattered profs. If you do the reading and the work, you'll be fine. 6 quizzes really pad your grade, and for the midterm/final, she told us the essay questions before hand, so it's up to how much work you put in for the grade.
Like others have said, her class is not easy, but it's not insanely difficult. Her lectures are very clear and interesting. She cares about he students, always responds to emails and stuff. She's a little pessimistic when it comes to modern day political stuff, but hey, who isn't?
She is nice and a good lecturer, but the class is pretty difficult. Between six quizzes, two midterms, a final, and one term paper, there is a lot of work in this class. The material isn't that hard, but there is definitely a lot of it. By the end of the quarter, I was very burned out from all of the work. She is very fair and straight forward tho
Moosbrugger is very by-the-book and straightforward. She is very well versed in the subject material, and her lectures are worth attending. The consists of six quizzes, three papers, and a final. I would recommend Moosbrugger for POLS6.
the quizzes are easy and straight forward if you do the readings and focus on the important points she emphasizes in class. there are 3 short papers which are also straight forward if you go to lectures and do the reading. readings are definitely needed for preparing the MC and fill-in-blank final.
She's an amazing professor. It was so easy to go to her office hours and talk, she's so interesting and knows a lot about the subject. The papers are really easy and she always gives a weekend to work on them...no midterm, but there are 6 quizzes that aren't worth that much, but it pays off to do the reading for the final.
moosebrugger is a good teacher, i really enjoyed the class for the most part. the papers are worth most of your grade, and she has 6 quizzes during lecture that are worth 10%. the material's not hard, there's just a lot of it, which means that you have to study a good amount for the final
Not the most interesting professor, but the class is extremely striaghtforward. Reading isn't completely necessary, but definitely helpful, especially when dealing with pop quizzes. I thought the papers were graded semi-unfairly, but the TAs are open to revision. Final was really easy.
