Amazing speaker and passionate about the subject. I loved her lectures and the class was engaging, yet pretty easy.
Very engaging and test are easy if you go to lecture and skim readings! Enjoyed the class and teaching heavily!
Love the way the course was structured--it was organized very effectively for truly learning. She is a great professor; super engaging lectures, and so passionate and knowledgeable.
Professor Moosbrugger is a phenomenal lecturer. Grading for the course can be difficult for an entry-level class, but the material was fascinating. At times, it felt like we were learning news headlines through a comparative lens, and it was awesome. Highly recommend taking Moosbrugger, very passionate and knowledgeable.
I looked forward to this class. Her lectures were fast-paced, informative, and helpful. Her passion and knowledge of the subject made the class captivating. If you actually pay attention to the lecture you will excel on the tests. She is awesome.
Super useful, important class.
One of the best lecturers I've had at UCSB! She gave great presentations and I learned a lot in this course. A LOT of material is covered and the 2 timed written exams were definitely a challenge but manageable. She expects a lot from her students but I would take her class again.
Amazing engaging insightful lectures & content. Cares about students, our gen & future of earth. Didnt shy away from harsh truths but also gave insights & tools to understand the problem at hand & routes to tackle it that're practical and realistic. Didnt like exams or grading AT ALL but she is currently changing both & class performed well overall
This prof made me never wear my seatbelt to class. Grades based on tests and quizzes. Her in quizzes are hard and chooses specific questions to confuse her students? You either do really well on her exams or fail. Many of the students in that class wanted to unalive themselves. I wouldnt reccomend taking her class during summer. Chill lady though.
the professor is lovely and she is definitely passionate about her class and very kind, however, be prepared to read a lot, it seems like her paper is based mainly on memorization and gives a lot to write about in a short period of time. Her quizzes are the worst it is based on the most minor details. Never worked that hard in a pols class before
This class wasn’t easy by any means, but it’s one of my favorite intro classes I’ve taken. She’s a good professor and is engaging. You’re only graded on a few things but the tests are nice because it shows how you can apply the material and not remember every random detail. I took a lot from it, it’s a good required course.
content is heavy cuz she covers a lot of regimes in the class. one country per lecture or two. No actually rubrics but the grading is fair as long as you spend time in the paper and go beyond the lecture content, making clear arguments with evidence in readings she gave. Her class is organized and inspirational. the best professor ive had in UCSB!
