Professor Ettenberg is an awesome guy and an all around great professor. One of my favorites at UCSB so far. If you do the reading and pay attention in lecture you can do fine. There's a ton of content covered in a short amount of time so make sure to stay on top of your work. I was not interested in Psych at all but i'm really glad I took this.

Dr. Ettenberg is hands down the BEST professor I have had at UCSB. He is so passionate, so engaging, such an eloquent speaker - funny at the right moments, intensely interesting.. When I signed up for conditioning and learning, I expected to be bored out of my mind. What a surprise. Do not pass up the opportunity to hear this man speak!

You need to read the textbook and study a lot. There's a ton of material that you need to know. Don't think you can slack off.

Fun Professor, lecture was entertaining and rarely boring. What I would suggest is never miss lectures, listen to his lectures, and make note of it. His test question requires more than surface understanding and definition. As for the textbook, know the keyterms and focus on parts that his lectures cover. Highly recommend taking his class.

One of my favorite teachers at ucsb. Make sure to read the book his test questions are very straight forward and if you know the lectures and book material you should be good!

He is one of the few professors that make me excited to go to lecture. He doesn't use powerpoint but his teaching style is much better. He always makes sure concepts are clear. The book is dense but is also very informative and something you should read even if you don't take the class. He managed to make behaviorism interesting!!

The beginning of the class was mostly theory on motivation and I thought to be pretty boring, but the second half was very interesting and we got more into the biological mechanisms behind motivation as well as social aspects. He's definitely a good lecturer, and the class is not hard if you attend lecture and do all the reading. Nice curve.

One of the best profs I've had. Obviously loves his subject and loves teaching. Has tons of energy and a great sense of humor. More than happy to explain things after class. Tests are hard but are manageable if you spend time studying. Uses the book material more than you would think. If his class is offered, take it!

Prof. Ettenberg is a great teacher! His tests are really hard though!!Do the reading! 75 mins to do 75 questions (NOT all MC, NOT scantron-- some MC, fill in the blank, short answer, etc). He said that he makes the tests intentionally long so that only the people who have studied so much that they know the answer right away will get a good grade.

GREAT teacher. He doesn't use powerpoint so it is a good idea to go to lecture. I couldn't make his office hours but he would always accommodate me. His tests aren't that hard. They are very fair. Learning and conditioning is a dry subject but he made the class very interesting. I would def take it if you're a biopsych or psych major. He's awesome!

Very interesting class, bolstered by Ettenberg's energetic nature. The class isn't always offered so take it if you can, it's one of the best classes for psych and biopsych.
