Katia is very knowledgable and passionate about teaching, which made the class relaxed and fun. She is nice and helpful during class and office hours. The class itself, however, is pretty demanding (1-2 hours of homework daily). The quizzes, midterm, and final are all easy if you do all of the homework and study. Attendance is mandatory.

Took her folk tales class during summer session last year, and will be taking sci fi from her this summer. Pretty straight forward, to do well go to class and do the readings for discussion. Some pop quizzes will motivate you to do the reading. She's super nice and extremely helpful! She wants students to do well.

She is a good professor. Attending classes is a must. There is quite a bit of outside work and studying especially if you want better than a C. The class was interesting, but I wouldn't continue on unless I wanted to major in linguistics.

Great teacher. She is quite easy on her grading, which is a plus, but she also chooses some very interesting literature. I have since become much more knowledgeable in the subject area. She is a very nice person as well. I recommend this class. GO TO CLASS! she takes attendance.

this was a great class. she's straightforward about what she wants you to know and is an easy grader. midterm and final are in-class essays and make sure you go to lecture because she takes attendance.

She's really nice, helpful, very knowledgeable, funny. It's important to read and attend lectures. I would recommend this class to my friends.

she's very helpful,nice, there was four books...but u can kinda get by but going to class! her test were straight forward, not hard at all but test what she taught you!(easy grader) i would def take her for any of her classes.

learning russian, she is very helpful but the work is a LOT.
