Do all the problem sets and the review he gives you. You'll get at least a B if you understand all the questions. The topics are kind of confusing but Babcock does well to make them understandable.

Wasn't too fond of him while I had him, but now that I'm in 100B I'm pretty sure I would do anything to have him teach this class : / Babcock is pretty straight forward. Just study the practice quizzes that he gives you and go to class to click in and you'll be golden! Curve is pretty amazing...

Best teacher for 100A you are going to find at this school. That's not saying he is easy but try to take him. The curves are very helpful (80 was an A on the first midterm and 75 on the second midterm- out of 100). You get 20 automatic points on the test just for going to class and using your iClicker once between tests. No homework due.

a really amazing man but the class was extremely difficult. i felt like econ 100a was my life. 2 midterms 1 final. graders sucked so make sure u check ur test for a regrade in case you can get more pts cuz they dont like giving credit for certain things. no hw. sections not mandatory but helpful. do problem sets! anyways loved babcock hated 100a

He's always willing to help outside of class, but it's difficult when the book doesn't help with what's being taught. His problem sets are the only things you can practice for tests with. If you want to do well, learn the general methods he uses to approach different types of problems. A lot of focus on "intuition," which can be good or bad at time

He is a great professor! Really knows his stuff, relates things to real world so it makes sense. Gives a ton of practice problems which are really helpful for test. Always a big curve, can basically get 40 points out of a possible 80 and still get a B (he gives 20 free points just for using i-clicker) go to office hours dont need workbook useless

As said previously it is a very challenging class but I got the feeling that it's not his fault its just that the material is challenging for anyone to teach. He hols review sessions before midterms and you get practice problems every week. Very nice guy and always wants to help!

This was one of the best professors I ever had in all 4 years at UCSB. He makes this class really interesting by relating the material to real world examples. For instance, he shows video clips during some lectures from youtube of The Office, The Apprentice etc.. to get his points across. We had to use clickers in class which helped you stay awake

Babcock was committed to his students. Held review sessions before exams OUTSIDE of class period, gave plenty of P.S. for practice, always available for help. Although he's hard, you'll take so much out of that class. GREAT GREAT GREAT professor.

A bit hard to understand. But if you read the textbook, you will be fine. Tests are very much based on his lecture and homework problems. A really friendly professor!

Wow, I could not believe the curve in this class. I get a 70% and that ends up being an A. The clicker is so damn stupid I hope he stops that, but I found this to be one of the easiest A's I've ever gotten. Just make sure you know how to write answers yourself (the tests are not multiple choice), and you will do better than everyone else.

His lectures were hard to follow because they were disorganized. He didn't seem like he cared how well we did in the class which I found frustrating. Tests are not impossible and he allows cheat sheets but this results in everyone doing well so nobody's grade is boosted much by the curve. I would have rather taken this class with a different prof.

Very good professor in my opinion. Gives concepts in a very easy to learn fashion with a clear explanation. Homeworks are not worth much and are not graded on accuracy, but graded if you tried it or not. Homework is important if you want to do well on the exams since they are similar in style. Too bad he doesn't also teach Econ 100B or 101.

Hard. Warp speed, off in phd land, but he's cool if you go to OH. Dont expect to do well on his exams, but nobody else does either.
