Horrible class and big lack of support in all aspects.
He has a tough vocabulary in his lectures that makes you not be able to understand what's happening (he says "intuitively" 2932741 times), especially when class is early in the morning its hard to want to go to class. Only reason I have an A is because I crammed for the midterm and learned everything reading the textbook chapters.
Such a genuine human and a great lecturer was very easy too
In my opinion, professor Atzberger is not a bad lecturer. He is definitely passionate and knowledgeable about what he is teaching, but he forgot that we are all just undergraduate students trying to pass, not PhD students doing research with him. The exams are super easy though, the first time I got 100/100 in a college math course.
Godly Professor, cares about students wellbeing and adjusts his class based on students needs.
His lectures are extremely hard to follow up and they make you feel like an idiot most of the time... though his exams are extremely easy. btw, having a good TA to help catch up with the unclear stuff in class is really necessary!
He's a super sweet guy that really does care for his students, but his lectures honestly felt a bit too abstract and didn't make sense a lot of the time. I absolutely recommend Paul's Online Notes as a supplementary resource, since that clarified lectures a lot. Tests were really easy too, so I can't complain.
Lectures were a little confusing since he didn't use many examples and was mostly abstract, however CLAS and math lab really simplified things and helped. This class is very doable if you put in a little extra work. Homework and final made up most of the grade, and his tests are very straightforward.
Very theoretical lectures, but doable tests! Self teaching is key for this class.
Don't get the hate. His midterms are extremely easy and homework due dates were frequently pushed back. Sure his slides might be a bit confusing, but it's college differential equations, not high school algebra. Math department also has great resources in the form of Math Lab and CLAS. Class will be a cakewalk and you will learn the techniques.
Don't take this prof if you can!!! I could never understand lectures because it was all abstract theory and hw didn't align with lectures very much. The exams are easy once you teach yourself how to do the hw. Go to section the tas actually help you learn!
Lectures aren't helpful and his example problems are way too complex. Homework doesn't align with lectures. He talks more about physics than he does math—he's definitely more concerned with research than teaching. Midterms are pretty easy, so getting an A isn't too bad, but I don't feel like I actually learned any of the math.
His lectures are awful, the hw is alright, and the midterms are stupid easy. His teaching style is to show the concepts, not the examples. You will only ever see letters in his "examples," which was annoying. The hw made me understand what I needed to know for the midterms. He made both midterms online, which made it way too easy.
Professor Atzberger is really good! He is super understanding and kind. If the class was confused on assignments, he would provide an extension for everyone! The final was a project which was really interesting to do and a good resume booster! He cares about teaching students skills to use in the industry, he's not just giving busy work. 10/10

Easiest exams ever!!! Hardest Homework ever!!! Cannot use plain word to describe how easy Paul's exams are. He has tons of knowledge but teaching style is weird. I suggest you skip all the classes, learn from YouTube, and succeed in exams!
Worst professor ever. Abstract teaching. No examples. Never understood that he was talking about. Learned everything from TA.

His slides are entirely words or visuals. No math examples, which is odd for a math class. I got an A because the practice final was exactly the same as final, so memorization solely. He spends most of lecture talking about how useful something is or how powerful something is. He did not spend time to build understanding.
Ok, he is kind, he is nice, he respects his students. However, this man has absolutely no idea how to explain things to his students. The lecture is borderline useless. You might as well learn everything on your own. If you ask him a question, he just rambles on and on and pretty much no one would understand what hes saying. Real Sad!
He may not be suitable for everyone but he is a very traditional person and respects all his students.
Atzberger was absolutely horrible for Math 4A. He relied heavily on the textbook publisher's lecture slides, and does not know most of the material himself. He simply reads the slides, with no explanation. Lectures are very hard to comprehend. Homework was 30% of the grade, which made it possible to do decently, as exams are the other 70%.
Paul is honestly the worst professor I've ever had. If you want to actually learn anything in this course you better hope you have a good TA. That being said, his class is really easy. He provides practice finals and midterms that are pretty much identical to the actual exams and is perpetually extending hw due dates. Bad lecturer and hard to reach
You can get pretty good grade if you do the practice exam carefully because they were almost the same but only small difference between numbers. Not good at teaching and just reading his ppt which almost the same as textbook.
