Rate My Professors (54)

PSY111 . 9 Years Ago

Omg, I've never did so bad in any class and I've never felt the need to rate any professor before. STAY AWAY FROM THIS GUY. The amount of information he packs in each lecture can be a whole class by itself (no joke!) and the information is poorly organized. His slides are the same. JUST A NIGHTMARE.

Way too easy. I hope he reads this and makes his tests more difficult

Here is how you do well in this class: 1. read the chapters and annotate thoroughly, and try to read them before the assigned lecture 2. go to office hours, either professor's or the TA's 3. study your butt off 4. practice the essay questions from the practice exam ?s!!

He's very helpful in office hours but trying to sit through lecture is quite painful. Didn't read the book and I didn't show up to lecture and just memorized the slides. Try making yourself familiar with the slides before you really start studying so you can receive help if you need it. He has a generous grading scale.

Yeah don't listen to these kids. He's a great guy and knows his material. The test is straight from the lectures. The book is a supplement (read it but not if your trying to cram then read the notes)...One major drawback he is monotonous i pass out during class. If you can stay awake go if you can't then read like hell. Hes nice in office hours

Not fun to listen to, but he knows a lot about the subject. Lectures are online and reading the book is really helpful. He's fair and actually pretty nice. The tests are MC with an essay portion, do his practice tests! Overall, ok class.

His tests are straightforward, but his lectures are pretty monotonous

Textbook is not required for his class. All the info for the exams are on the slides. He's very helpful and nice if you speak to him during office hours.

He's a little boring but very intelligent. The class is very important for the rest of the major and crucial for a future in the field.

He's a good lecturer, if a tad dull. The material is extremely interesting and his slides make the information very straight foward. Get into his research!

I got the best grade in the class, so here's what I have to say. You DO NOT have to read the book and you don't have to go to class. You have to memorize every word and image on the notes, and understand the processes. The info isn't that complicated, but if you're stupid it might help to go to class and listen to him explain it.

REALLY boring class, but necessary. It's kind of a hard subject to make interesting, so it's not really his fault, although he does talk really fast with no pauses and in a pretty monotonous tone. It could be worse. One midterm, one final. Both pretty specific and nitpicky...

Worst class i've ever taken. It was extremely difficult because Kippin talks way too fast and puts too much material on the slides. I found myself writing so quickly i could't even pay attention to what Kippin was saying. The textbook was an extremely poor choice.

Very boring speaker, but lectures are necessary. Poor choice of textbook, readings are scattered in groupings of 2-4 pages in different chapters. Poor organization of subject matter, lot of independent piecing together. Not recommended.

Kippin is a homie. So long as you go over the lecture slides before tests you should be fine. Anything in the book that isn't related to the slides, even if it's in an assigned chapter, isn't likely to be on a test. His study materials mirror the test and he's chill in office hours.

Okay so the class wasn't easy at all and the lectures were pretty boring, but they are a NECESSITY. Despite the boring subject material Kippen's explanations make everything a lot easier to understand. Test questions are straight forward but specific, so study hard.

What he lacks in teaching(much), he makes up in choice of textbook(amazing).

This class is awful. I LOVE biology, but this class was boring, and he was unclear. He talks way too fast and slurs his words and he tries to cram like 50 slides in and keeps lecturing after class has ended and you have to stay 'cause the material is hard! I wouldn't have taken this class except I had to. Tests are HARD. I do not recommend at all!

the material is a bit dry, and some questions on the tests are tricky, but his lecture slides are awesome. I pulled an all nighter before the final and got an A plus.

this was my worst class by far. all he does during lecture is read the slides that are already posted on the internet. i never went to lecture and fortunately got a C in that class. he is so boring and horrible at teaching.

He is very thorough and to-the-point with his lectures. Don't bother reading the book...but be sure to study the lectures VERY THOROUGHLY for the midterm and final. In general I found the subject matter boring...but I think he did a good job teaching biopsych.

boring and hard! know the lecture notes by heart and maybe you'll do okay on the tests.
