Prof Loster is a nice, funny guy. Class is kind of boring, but not extremely difficult. Homework assignments every week (in the beginning, they were based on nothing we learned really), you get a "learning tool" for the tests (really helpful), and project. Just do the work and you should be fine!
This was not a really hard class, but I took it over the summer. There is a good size project that takes some time. The final was not as hard as I thought it would be and we got a note card. Outside of that there is homework that you turn in in section which is helpful.Loster is a really nice guy and the subject seems as though it will be useful!
Nice guy, helpful, but voice is a big monotonous, so with accounting, watch out and keep yourself awake. he's pretty fair and doesn't make the class more difficult than it needs to be.
Loster is a great professor if you only plan on taking Econ 3A and then never taking acct again. Unitl the final. Had an A in the class, due to the high class average, the final extreemly confusing. This hurt many peoples gades, i ended up with a B. The cheat sheet is great for this class but will hurt you understanding of basic concepts in 3B!
Since 118 is one of the easiest acctg course, he doesn't curve, so good luck on ur midterm and final. The concept was okay, same with the midter, but the final was a bit challenging. Final was a bit different from the previous exams, so I didn't expect the difficulty. But he's way nice and helpful.
Loster was great, definitely one of my favorite professors at SB. highly recommend taking econ3a from him. he's a nice guy and he always helps out his students. oh and he lets you have a "learning tool" on the midterms/final. its basically a cheat sheet.
he's really nice and helps you out a lot if you ask for it. highly recommend the honors section. the final was hard, but the rest of the class is way easy
Great guy, very nice and helpful
Some generally easy concepts but he throws a few curveballs when it comes to the tests.
Easy concepts and OK tests. Do what your assigned and you should get a decent grade.
Class is really straight-forward and easy. Project is big but he is a leniant grader. Tests have no surprises and he lets you have a cheat sheet.
he probably should've stayed retired. 40% of the grade is pointless case studies so beware of getting in with a lazy group like i did. the other 60% are two midterms and a final, all equally weighted but decently straightforward. be prepared to not learn a damn thing in lecture cuz old man losted rambles!!!!
Always ****. Easy grading. Group work was annoying though but there was only one project so not that big of a deal.
he needs to actually show up for class.
Very easy class, just go to lecture and pay attention to the stuff that he is talking about and there should be no reason why you can not get a B+ in this class
Easy, straight-forward class. Loster even says so himself. Tests are very, very similar to the practice ones he gives in the readers. Group project is kind of a pain in the ass, but it's worth 30% of your grade and it's graded with a pretty high level of leniance.
he's not that difficult. I have the 118 book if anyone is intersted email me. makhan@umail.ucsb.edu
Lobby's the best! Lot's of annoying group work so pick people you like!
Wonderful class. He allows you to have a huge cheat sheet for every test. As long as you put all examples on that cheat sheet and all definitions you are set and will get an A in the class. Very nice, granpa like, professor. Breathe of fresh air to the harshness of most econ professors!
stud, reminds me of william shatner. i once saw him walking around downtown **** looking for his car.
This guy is a great professor
he may still be teaching one class a quarter im not sure, but this guy is always wasted at class, such an easy class...Loster u **** i will miss your red face!
