such a kind professor! one of those professors who really cares for his students. I took Sikhism with him and it was interesting and kind of easy. I def recommend him!
Professor Mann is awesome. Lectures were a bit dry and boring at times but Professor Mann was always a pure joy. He's a funny, sweet, caring man. He was always doing the best he could to help the students, even willing to not count the midterm if it would hurt your grade!
One of the best teachers I have ever had, he helps you understand the material, and it is a very interesting class, more interesting than I had expected. Best teacher, and he cares about how students feel about the material and grades.
One of the nicest professors I have had. He took a vast time period and made the major concepts and ideas attainable to the students. The reader was 500 pgs, but you don't have to do the readings if you attended lecture (I got away with skimming). He really wants to give out A's. Fair grader, rewards you for what you got right not what you missed.
professor mann's sikhism class was so much fun! I learned a lot and got an A by attending lecture, and doing most of the reading from his book, and some of the reader readings. If you want to learn about something completely new, I'd take this class.
I feel as though throughout the quarter I got to know Dr. Mann as a person and not just as a professor. He is without a doubt one of the most beautiful people I have ever had the opportunity to meet. He cares about his students in a rare way and much more than any professor I have had. TAKE HIS CLASS! I feel so blessed to have had the opportunity.
Professor Mann is one of the sweetest, kindest and most encouraging professors I know. He is one of the best scholars in his field and is still remarkably humble and approachable. He can make you love the subject he teaches, and if you go see him in office hours, you'll make a friend for life. He's like a grandfather to me now - I love this guy!
Dr. Mann is a great professor and his lectures are very interesting. However, the class, though labeled GLOBAL CULTURES, was basically about Jews (perhaps because his wife is Jewish) and about India (perhaps because he comes from India). So, I didn't like that, but if you can swallow it, then go ahead and take his class.
Professor Mann is a very rare individual. Not only is he a giant in his field but he has an amazing gift for conveying information in a compelling manner and is extremely approachable. I look forward to taking a class from him again in the near future.
He is the sweetest man and is so passionate about what he talks about. He really is considerate about the student's heavy work load from other classes, so he let us pick out the midterm questions in advance. The research paper is long, but is doable. He's Great!
Nice man and always willing to help after class. He just wants people to listen and to learn so he's not to tough as long as people attend and show interest. I got an A and my friend got an A- and we aren't that hard working so you'll be fine.
Very nice man, easy to talk to in office hours. Again, the final was a paper, so you don't have to read after the midterm. Take anything you can by him.
He doesn't give a final, so I stopped reading after the midterm. Until then there was a lot of reading, but you don't have to do it all to get a good grade on the midterm. The class and the test are very straight forward and fair.
He is a very nice, interesting man with an obvious grasp on the Sikh religion and history. The amount of reading he assigned for this class was ridiculous, but after the midterm it was fine because there wasn't a final. Midterm was all essays and very hard, but a very interesting class and professor
