Really great content. Weekly readings are assigned but not required before every lecture, they're spread out more. Super lecture heavy; everything he says during lecture is important so expect it to show up on the tests. Only one midterm and final, no assignments. The test formatting was vocab, memorizing artist title and dates and comparing essays

A nice guy, the only things in the gradebook being the midterm, final, and attendance. tests were a little stressful but he was very nice and made them take home and gave us the weekend for them. my only irk is that despite receiving good/great comments on my work, i barely got an A. maybe he's a tough grader? lectures were very interesting as well

The class is based only on a midterm and final. Overall, the professor was accommodating in making the exams take-home and also recording and posting all the lectures. Overall, would recommend.

This whole class was pretty much based only on the lecture notes you take. He only puts up the paintings and some key words on the slides and the rest is all based on what he says (and he talks super fast) so you kind of have to speed write everything down. If you don't take excellent notes you won't do good on the midterm and final.

I really learned a lot from professor Meadow's class. He tells you everything you need to know about the painting. His lecture is inspirational. I can almost remember every picture until now. Even though 6b includes many religious staffs, he explains clearly and thoroughly. Go to lecture and take notes. That's all you need to pass the exam.

Go to every lecture, take notes (note down all the paintings and terms he talks about). 2 essays, 1 midterm (identification and terms with short answer, and essay) homework due in section every week (usually readings + a short writing assignment. grading is lenient) and a final.

Mark Meadow is very clear on what he expects from his students. 107A has a lot of religious references but definitely not overwhelming for those without prior knowledge. His exams are very straightforward but his lectures may be boring repetitive due to the nature of the subject. This was for summer, so he might be different during the year.

He is very dry, but is passionate about the class. He's really a nice guy, towards the end of the class he turned the final into a take-home with only 4 medium essay questions. No book required, but you really have to take notes on what he says because you cant find much of the content online.

Meadow is a fantastic professor. I had to take this course to cover a pre-req and I feel as though I lucked out. His lecture technique is thorough and clear (he pauses after important information, spells out key terms for emphasis, and notes if he's gone on a tangent) and makes the subject matter interesting. Readings required for this course.

I absolutely love Professor Meadow!He is an excellent professor and very sweet and always willing to help.I loved his class! He definitely knows his stuff and I found lectures very interesting. Definitely go to class and pay attention. TAKE GOOD NOTES. His exams are fair and based on lecture. Section is mandatory.

I enjoyed this class. The subject matter is a little too focused around religious images in my opinion but Professor Meadow explains everything really well. Only had to memorize around 60 images or so for the final, maybe less actually.

He is VERY dry, and I took the 8am class and would try so hard not to nap, but it was inevitable. Try to take notes literally on everything he says, down to the exact room the painting is located in. HE WILL TEST YOU ON IT. Does not use the textbook, the exams are based solely on his lectures. Memorized 200 images for the exam. Artist, title, date.

The Reader is supplementary, so do not bother buying it. Everything that you need to know is in the lecture and he gives you A LOT of information. Also, he takes attendance before lectures and that is a part of your final grade. Show up, take notes and you'll do fine.

Lectures informative, but can be a bit dry. Focus on big ideas, dates, and anything that is a foreign word and you're mostly set. The textbook isn't really necessary, as the lectures are the book. Need to remember dates and a good chunk of slides, but it's doable.

Personality aside he's a great teacher. Sometimes a bit dry, but definitely tells you everything you need to know for midterm/final. section is a pain and mandatory, but easy assignments. got an A- and didn't do the reading. just memorize title/artist/date and keyterms. pretty easy interesting class.

Very heavily based on religion and a lot of foreign terms he chooses to use. He does know his stuff, but very hard to decipher what is important or not in his lectures.

Prof. Meadow is an EXCELLENT professor. He knows the material and expects you to study. If you study and go to class it will be an enjoyable class.

This class wasn't too bad but here were WAAAY too many images to memorize-even for an Art HIstory class!!! Attendance is definitely mandatory--he mentions little things in lecture that will help you later. DONT BUY THE BOOK!!! You will not use it...lectures are the book. He is really picky on dates!

Mark Meadow is the man. This class was pretty interesting and his exams were fair. You have to know dates really well and listen to every detail. We didn't study a lot of images since he spent so much time on each one. Meadow knows A LOT about what he's teacing.

Preoccupied with the little technicalities, he did not teach clearly. He often called called out students for sneezing, making any noise or coming into the hall seconds after lecture began. Main point: He needs to calm down. To his students: take serious notes on what he says about EVERY painting and their authors. It's tedious but will help.

class is a little hard due to the subject matter, but renaissance art isnt bad. if u like memorizing, take this class. memorizing artist, painting names and dates & 2 small essays that they give you a little leeway on. not a dificult class if u go to class everyday & take minimal notes on every painting. meadow seemed full of himself tho & arrogant

Meadow knows his art history. He's into renaissance and he not only explains art about its details but interesting facts about it. The class requires ALOT of work and section is mandatory but I learned alot from the class and I definitely recommend it because it's a good class. The final & midterm is just memorizing slides and write essays.
