This class is alot of reading and isnt easy. Don't take it as a freshman. There is weekly quizes every friday that are super hard, but if you show up to Lecture/Disc then it cancels out. Midterm and Final is tuff, but if you put in the effort on the paper then youll get a good grade.

Lindemann's lectures are very dry, boring, and monotonous. I've fallen asleep many times. He focuses way too much on anti-semitism and almost completely skipped WWII. Most of the reading for the class blows, especially the books that he wrote and forces you to buy

Without a doubt the most forthright and engaging professor in the department, if not on campus. He's a literal genius, and his passion for the subject matter is infectious. Be ready to work, hard. Because he is.

Wow, he truly loves german history, and wants you to feel the same way! Talk about dificult, but he is still fair

Prof Lindeman is a true scholar who isn't afraid to say things that arn't politically correct. His command of the German hisory and the hisory of communism is superb. He is also a nice guy who is willing to have discussions with students.

He's the worst professor that I've ever had. The books that he assigns are boring and the whole class is based on Locke or Rousseau; everything has to be traced back to them in the midterm/final. Plus, he gives ridiculously hard quizzes every week that everyone fails. His lectures put me to sleep.

This professor literally gives the hardest finals I've had at UCSB.(I had two classes w/ him.) The good side: He's a great professor!! His expectations are high... but that's a good thing for a student who wants to learn! If you want intellectual discipline, he'll be happy to oblige you.

His quizzes and tests are freaking hard. He gives weekly quizzes and you have to write 2 papers. this class sucks because it was boring.

Prof. Lindemann is a great lecturer and really knows his field well. Weekly quizzes are a pain, but they're not too hard and they keep you caught up with the reading.

intresting lecutures with pretty easy quizzes at the end of each week. Good grading policy
