she seems bad at first but she is acctually not that bad. she seems to talk down to her class which makes it even easier because she restates her main points OVER and OVER. she isnt as bad as people make her out to be.

all of the 1 series in chic st is boring,but if you take her in upper division classes, shes probably the best in the dept, true she can be boring at times, but i took the political philosophy of cesar chavez w/ her and it was the best class @ ucsb
her lectures were long and kinda boring but i never read anything and still managed to pass cux her lectures will review everything u need to know so that was a plus and she is so nice too
she does not know how to teach at all. she reads from notecards, her lectures are boring and unclear, there is assigned seating and roll taken in lecture. the class isnt very hard, easy to get through. theres a lot of reading that you dont really have to do, but some of it is interesting. and some also some good movies.
Barvosa is the most boring teacher EVER!! She reads off notecards and always has to present lectures in a very formalized manner. The class goes too much into how oppressed the Chicanos are and overanalyzes everything. The only good thing about the class is a couple of good movies.
Lecture can be boring at times, but you survive. The readings are interesting and she goes over them in lecture. She is really nice and tons of opportunities for extra credit. Most of the time you watch films like real women have curves, selena, etc.

this class envokes suicidal feelings. i couldn't even bring a pencil with me to lecture for fear that i might get so desperate that i would slit my wrists with it. b-o-r-i-n-g. AND they take attendance in lecture because they know that no one would come otherwise.
This is the reason that ethnicity-focused classes should NOT be a graduation requirement...probably the most boring, unclear class I've ever taken. The professor rambles on about the same concepts that you can't even really grasp because she never gives dates, places, names, or examples of any kind.

lectures are really boring. she just reads from note cards, and says the same thing over and over. a lot of reading... however all of the papers are common sense. essay midterm/final... but its easy to BS. hated the lectures, but the class isnt very hard if ur good at writing/reading.
Soooooo boring. She lectures from notecards, lectures are hard to follow, and she barely interacts with the class. Role is taken so there's no skipping this one. She shows good movies but she always lectures and only shows 5 minutes of the movie at the end of lecture. There's also tons of reading!
OMG! this class is so boring! having to be at lecture sucks because you just want to fall asleep. She seems nice, but the way she teaches is incredibly boring. There are rarely any visuals and no outlines to follow.
Although she gives some opportunities for extra credit and shows movies, her lectures are incredibly boring due to her single phrased thoughts as well as her lack of eye contact because she has to read from cards. She also requires mandatory attendance in lecture and section.
She was very clear to make her point in lecture. Assigns a lot of reading, but they are short stories/articles and are interesting. Shows awesome films such as Selena, Real Women Have Curves, and Luminarias. The tests are easy to prepare for.
