One of the best classes I've taken so far at UCSB. Class is laid back, as we watch movies and listen to music. He usually lets us out early. We write creative essays (3) not typical college writing 1 boring essays. He is very passionate about writing and knows his stuff, great guy!!

very unclear on expectations... not a recommened class because you definately wont learn anything that will ever help you in life and you will waste your time for nothing

This was probably one of the most fun classes I've taken here. I'ver heard that Writing 1 is usually pointless but I learned a lot about actual writing in this class. If you have to take Writing 1, take it with Macker. Plus he's super cute and funny.

A great teacher, but he gives out hard essay topics to write.

Definitely take Macker's class. He is really interesting and has such a passion for the subject. He really wants to get know his students. It will be one of the best choices you make.

Mr Macker is a great teacher. I'm actually learning something from a writing class which has never happened before. If your going to take a writing, take his, you wont regret it.

Macker. Wears a pink shirt. Really Good teacher. Makes subject matter interesting and is a good story teller.

teddy definitely sparks something in your mind you didn't even know was there. his class is something to enjoy whether you like writing or not. it's really something to look forward to.

AMAZING CLASS! This was really the only class that kept my sanity this quarter. The class is so much fun and you look forward to going. Teddy is a great teacher and the topics covered in class are so thought-provoking and interesting. Plus he is FUNNY

He is very passionate about writing and teaching it. I highly recommend him if u like or dont like writing.

Awesome teacher. Loves writing and talking about writing. His enthusiasm is transferred to you while taking his course. If u have to take writing, get him as your teacher because all other writing teachers are lame

he is an awesome teacher who can talk about anything. He has interesting ideas and he helps to open minds to a different world. it is an awesome class, do not miss it!

I havn't finished the class yet, but he's a cool guy that can talk about anything. Really get going about things and is engaging to listen to.
