Clear and straight forward, exams are fair, lectures may be boring but not a hard class at all
Yes, quite a few thought he was boring but I liked every day of lecture and looked forward to them. He may not be boiling over with enthusiasm but he really knows poly sci and taught me a lot
straightforward lecture slides really helped when studying possible essay prompts for the exams.
I dreaded going to lecture and fell asleep when I did go. Made Poli Sci extremely boring. Way too serious!

He told us that he makes his mid-term VERY hard and rarely does anyone do well on them. But he made the final easier.

Prof. Smith really knows how to lecture. He's a really down to earth guy who knows how to get his point across. While an intro to government class may not seem that interesting, he makes it entertaining with his obvious enthusiasm for the subject matter.
Smith is a funny guy, meet him in his office hours and he will be the biggest help. Extremely fair grader.

Like his class a lot!!!!! Pol Sci 155 is the best class at UCSB I have had. However you need to read and that is hard because the simulation is sooo much fun!
