Deacon is a good professor while lecturing but when it comes to assignments he didn't pick the right material because i felt that he was teaching one thing and the workbook was expecting something different from the lecture but anyone planning to take this class will do ok by getting past exams.

I don't know what to say...I think his lectures are so much easier than his exam questions. He never shows you how to do hard problems in lectures, so your grade depends all on your own. You need to completely understand the materials before you take the exam.

boring lectures but a straight forward class. Often takes test questions straight off old midterms and finals. Not to difficult if you review the old tests.

Looks exactly like Kevin Spacey. Class was boring but tests are based on lectures and old tests. Homework and group projects make up 40% of the grade and those are easy A's!

Most of what Deacon shows you in lecture has little to do with the workbook problems. I had to rely on my TA to teach me. Sure, Deacon's a nice guy, but not a very good professor when it comes to teaching you what you need to know.

his lectures are pointless...i learned more from the CLAS tutors in 1 hr than what i learned from him the whole quarter

good professor but the tests are very tricky

Pretty good prof., he is pretty clear on what he expects from you, and he doesnt pull any wierd twists on his tests.

tricky ass class u'll think u got 100% while u get like 70%

Very clear, gives examples, answers questions well. Grading is fair. Nothing really special though, he seems like just another professor in the crowd.
