MARSH J
Amazing and funny professor! Her grading criteria was straightforward with hw assignments being 40% of the grade and exams (3) being 60%. Her lectures emphasized what would be on the tests so I suggest paying attention. I found exams to be based on lecture slides but reading should still be done to solidify info. Practice exams are super helpful!
Professor Marsh was a good professor. She gave us slides that you need to fill in during lecture, but towards the end, she gave us filled in slides so you don't have to go. Tests are based directly from the lecture slides. Homework was fairly easy, just an assignment once a week. And she gives out candy.
Unprofessional, rude, doesn't take student suggestions, doesn't post slides
Prof Marsh is very understanding. Her lectures outline the points in a pretty broad sense (for what you need to know on exams and quizzes), so I suggest reading the text book to get a deeper understanding of the material. Also use flashcards!!!! Physical ones!!! they helped me pull my grade from a low B to an A.
I really enjoyed her. She did not always explain concepts in the best way, but she had to go through a lot of material. She definitely cares about the students, and always replied to my emails. Her tests were a little difficult, but she would take questions off if too many students got it wrong. She was overall a good professor.
Better than Low, but that's not saying much. There were small issues in the class that will hopefully be better next time. Study the slides and only use the textbook for explanations. There are a couple of very specific questions that are taken from the slides. HW is busywork, but helps your grade. Very small curve. Do the extra credit!
Marsh was an amazing professor for bio, especially after surviving Low. She is clearly passionate about the content and cares a lot for the students. Her class has 3 non-cumulative exams and weekly quizzes/writing assignments. Pay a lot of attention in lecture since she drops hints and such.
The Low -> Marsh pipeline is PEAK, be grateful. Tests are non-cumulative & ALL MC, she gives hints out for test content constantly in lecture, provides extra credit opportunities, is super communicative & honest via email when students need help, and tried to make the terrible 8 AM lecture time more bearable using dad jokes. Remember: big picture!
Marsh is GREAT professor! You can tell she's very passionate about what she teaches. There's 3 exams, weekly homework (either short quizzes/short writings) but it wasn't that bad! She throws no curveballs on the exams, just make sure to pay attention in lecture since there's a lot of content to know. I learned so much and actually enjoyed it.
