Prof G makes an effort to engage students, which makes lectures entertaining. However, it is easy to feel lost because he only does proofs during class and gets lost in the weeds of higher level math that is not needed for the course. Lots of HW and gave less than a week's notice for the midterm. Wouldn't recommend.

I do not know where to start. He's an unorganized instructor. He did not specify the midterm date on the syllabus and informed us less than a week before the midterm through a CANVAS ANNOUNCEMENT. He adds additional homework questions to the problem set days before it is due without notice. Confusing lecture with NO examples. Would not recommend.

Lets you bring 2 pages of notes to tests, EXTREMELY, extremely lenient grader, and releases practice problems the night before the exams that are basically exactly the same as the ones on tests. One of the greats, his classes are not fail-able, ignore what everyone says. Just show up to 2 classes: the midterm and final, and you'll pass I promise.

I would say that he is the best professor that I have gotten in the pstat department. He cares so much for the students and he truly wants everyone to succeed and do as well as possible. He took the time to learn the names of the people who attend lecture regularly, and is super passionate about teaching. I'd def take him again. I loved Grigachad.

Didn't know how to pace the course for Summer Session B, so we were told to attend two extra lectures at 7:45 PM during our finals week. High expectations for students' understanding while simultaneously leading disjointed, confusing lectures. Luckily, he's a very lenient grader. He's a good guy, but would avoid in future upper divs.

Karen is a genuinely good person and although I don't always understand 100% of the lecture material, he always tries to make it more entertaining. Would take him again, but the class isn't easy.

Having him for PSTAT126 rn. Never doubt he is a really nice guy. But he just makes 0 transitions in what he taught and always makes me feel lost. Get ready to self-teach urself (my TA is not helpful as well).

Very friendly, and answers all questions without making you feel dumb. Exams were similar to practice tests and always tested on content we had covered in class/section. Went on tangents in lectures, but the class wasn't content-heavy so I was fine with it. Skip lectures and self-learn through the free textbook if it bothers you

For PSTAT 8, Prof. Grigorian is a great professor! The grading is very fair and I learned a lot from his class. There is weekly homework, two exams (midterm and final), and attendance is required according to the syllabus. Sections are also great for learning new things or expanding upon what we learned in lecture.

People that criticize Professor Grigorian don't know what a good Professor is. Grigorian is very accessible, has interesting lectures and does his best at making his class fun. I had him for PSTAT 8 this quarter and his grading was very lenient, as well as his exams. He is not a boring professor and whatever question you have he'll answer. A+ prof.

He is the worst lecturer at UCSB. Hands down. He spoke softly without using the sound system so the whole lecture hall of 100 people had to be silent if you wanted to hear him speak. And if you did hear him speak he would ramble and go on tangents about topics that had nothing to do with the topics we would be tested on.

He thinks he's funny but he is not. Lecture material has absolutely nothing to do with the homework or tests. Lots of independent study, only take this class if you HAVE to. He also remembers everyones names and will call you out if you miss lecture.
