Super passionate and chill professor. His exam questions are all copied from the study guide he provided, which makes it really easy to do well in his class. Definitely recommend if you want to take an easy GE yet learn something new and meaningful!

Prof. Barrett is such a chill guy and genuinely wants everyone to succeed. Office hours are super informal but still helpful, I would go sometimes just to chat. He almost convinced me to double major in philosophy! 100% would take this class again.

Extra credit for section attendance, and the concepts were easy to grasp. Highly recommend

Very interesting and fun GE. Prof. Barrett has great music taste, really cute baby pictures, and gives out kiwis for participation. Made what could easily be a difficult subject matter very easy to understand. Very reasonable homework load and thorough study guides for midterms and final. Would recommend!

The class itself was not what I expected, and it reminded me a lot of geometric proofs. There is a textbook that Thomas instructs the students to get, but I ultimately stopped using it around the first midterm. Everything on the exams is taken directly from the study guides. Lots of opportunities for extra credit, including attendance. Liked my TA.

What a great guy! I understand that this class can be hard if you're not doing the homework's and practicing outside of that. The 2 midterms and final all had study guides where he took problems directly onto the study guides to the tests. The best way I studied was doing the whole study guides and then making sure I knew how to do each problem!
