I am not too sure why Professor Kruvand has gotten such bad reviews. When I took her class, she was firm but fair about the material. It helped me a lot, and she was always willing to guide people through it. Her class helped me realize how much I enjoyed journalism. Another thing I enjoyed about her was she always remembered her students :)
This wasn't my fav class, but she's pretty nice and the lecture material is super easy. She tells you to buy the textbook, but you don't need it. She can be a bit of a harsh grader, but she lets you turn in rough drafts of the 2 heaviest weighted assignments and leaves feedback, which is super helpful. Workload is very manageable.
She is the rudest person I have ever met in my life. Extremely harsh on grading. Her instructions are not clear, but her critical comments can be super long. I do not recommend her ever!!! If I could rate below 0, I would. Just NO!!!
I'm not sure why Prof Kruvand has such bad reviews on here. I honestly loved her and felt that I learned a lot from her class. She gives very thorough and helpful feedback on all assignments, and the assignments themselves aren't even super difficult. She adapted to online school really well and is always open for feedback on her teaching style.
She grades kind of tough. I got F's for two assignments. Very unclear guidelines and feedback. But she did start to relax on the grading late in the quarter, I think someone may have talked to her about this cause after that I got B's and one A- on the assignments. Overall, she's not horrible just tough on us for Zoom university.
Professor Kruvand is a tough grader. I was struggling with submitting my best work yet still getting B's. I went to her office hours and she was so nice and caring. Her critique can come off harsh, and she knows that, but if you really get to know her she's awesome. Taken virtually in Spring- basically, you submit one assignment a week.
