He doesn't get to actual calc until like week 6 or 7. The lectures are awful, but the nice thing about math classes is that you can learn everything you need to on your own on like kahn academy. I watched his lectures at 3x speed (2x sounded like he was talking like a normal person) just to get the gist of what he wanted us to know specifically.
If you took AP Calc, the beginning of the course will be super easy and review. It lets you see how overly complicated he makes things. But, the final is 50% of the grade and covers the newer material. He's a really a bad lecturer but genuinely a nice person. I liked him but not his teaching. Don't bother going to class, watch yt videos and do CLAS
He is a great professor who knows math well and really cares students. He is extremely patient and helpful especially during office hours. He could be a little bit nervous and serious during lectures, but he is actually pretty kind and friendly. If you really want to learn something about math, definitely go to his office hours.
His lectures were not so good. He confused me a lot. He made the class seem harder than it needed it to be. However, his midterms were do-able. Just not his final. His final was hard. He was really easy on homework. Like only 10 problems every week. Also, sections are mandatory. I think that is all. Oh actually, he was a nice dude.
I dunno why he received such low rating. Nice caring guy. Lectures are actually pretty good, in contrast to what the other rating claimed. Integral itself is a difficult topic, so you may not be able to catch the meaning of the functions and equations during the lectures when you first hear of that. Go to office hours or CLAS if you have questions.
His class was really boring and if it weren't for my previous knowledge on calc then I probably would have flunked. His lectures were hard to sit through and the homework didn't correlate with the lecture most of the time. Also don't expect him to round up any grades such as an 89.8% or higher.
