This professor bases most of your grade on attending a 3-hour lecture where your camera must stay on, and proceeds to ramble about his political bias, along with bright yellow writing on slides where he cites only his own books, which are the required readings and must be purchased. Unorganized, and even the TAs won't respond to emails.

Lectures felt so chaotic and disjointed I could barely take notes, and much of it felt like him talking in circles and implying things that aren't entirely true/skewed a certain way. Attendance is majority of grade, plus 3 essays. Prompts are vague and confusing, especially essay 1, he does not answer questions. His TAs keep the class afloat.

Look, he is a good professor, and I can tell he knows his stuff. But he gets so wound up in his political biases that it draws a big line between views in the class. People argue, and he cuts them off after 1 minute. he stands far left, and you can tell the way the class is taught is from left sources only. Politics aside, it could be taught better

Show up to 3 hr lecture, pay attention or don't (no electronics so bring a book), he's super passionate and will teach you lots if you pay attention. 1000 word reflection every week with two longer papers in between. Super easy and pretty good grader if you just get it done.

It is a intense class, around 80-200 pages of reading with a 1000 word reflection a week. I learned more than I have in any class I have taken. No electronics sounded daunting at first, but it actually made the class so much more interesting. I highly recommend this class or another one with Robinson but get ready to read and write.

Best professor I have ever had. I have taken 3 of his classes and enjoyed all of them. He is extremely knowledgeable and clearly cares for his students. His assignments are very straightforward, weekly reading assignments, no tests, and a lot of reading, however I have always enjoyed the readings. Lots of theory and analysis but amazing class!!

One of the most engaging classes I've taken. It's definitely a heavy class, around 80-200 pages of reading and a 1000 word reflection a week. However, I really love Robinson's approach to the class, he encourages questions at all times and loves it when you challenge his ideas. Can be a truly transformative class, I'd recommend.

Someone called him a dictator, and they're not wrong. Attendance is mandatory with 3 iClickers. No electronics in class. 1000 word reflections every week. He pretty much talks at you for 3 hours showing off everything he knows, which is quite a bit so I respect him for that. He would bring up very relative things in class which was nice.

Weekly essay due at 10pm. lectures were long and boring, he did seem to care very deeply about what he teaches. Wishy-washy with being accessible outside of class, would often no-show his office hours. Makes you buy multiple of his own books which were impossible to find online, relatively cheap but everything adds up. would only take if mandatory.

Professor Robinson is intense but cares deeply about the material. While the reading load is heavy, the content is engaging. Utilize unstuck ai and focus on the lectures to succeed.

Great professor. He knows the material and is very well versed on the topics. I will say, learn how to write an essay before you begin reflections. He isn't as clear on his expectations however be as academic as you possibly can be. Treat it as a real analysis paper than an “reflection.”

His minimum reading is at least 100 pages per week and expects us to write a 1000 word essay weekly, which he sets the deadline to be at 10 pm. I get so stressed out every Tuesday. On one of the weeks, he even made us read an entire book of more than 200 pages on top a list of documentaries. Take his class if you are a strong reader.
