One of the best professors at UCSB. Dude was friendly and gave us candy to keep us awake during class. 10/10

One of the nicest professors at UCSB, i had him my very first quarter here and he made the giant lecture halls a little less intimidating, section is important, but the midterm & final were multiple choice

I enjoyed attending this class. Even though he posts the lectures on gauchospace, it doesn't mean that you should skip class because he elaborates in lecture. If you want an A, you should attend class. He is strict, but he is very nice and very approachable. The sections go by fast so they're not boring. There is a lot of reading.

History 2A is one of the easiest classes I've ever taken! Sure, lectures can be a bit boring and drawn out but as long as you somewhat pay attention in lecture and skim through the readings, the midterm and final will be super easy. The two papers are graded quite easily as well.

Solid professor and relatively easy GE. Kegerreis is very knowledeable about history, although lectures are a bit dense at times. Lecture attendance is not mandatory and slides are posted on GauchoSpace. Midterm and final are easy, multiple-choice tests. Two papers, 800 and 1800 respectively. Key to an A is section participation.

Great teacher, but long lectures and dense material. His lecture-heavy classes are fast, but important for doing well on his tests. Get to know your TA and participate in section (they are responsible for a large chunk of your grade). Read the course reader and take diligent notes to succeed! Kegerreis is a knowledgeable, caring, and solid prof.

Solid GE. Professor K knows everything there is to know about Ancient Greece. Lectures require diligent note taking, but he provides you with key terms and questions to help on the tests. 1 reader (under $25) & 2 fairly short essays. Currently taking his 111b udiv and it's obvious that he really cares about his students and wants us to have fun.

Lectures have a lot of information, but are usually interesting. Tests are all multiple choice and are fairly easy as long as you take good notes and don't skip class. Most important tip in my opinion is to get close with your TA at section because they are responsible for half of your grade (essays and partipation) as well as grade adjustments.

I'm generally good at history but I don't think this class was that hard. As long as you attend the lectures and take good notes you should be fine. Know the readings for the tests. Kegerreis is really passionate, wait til you get to the Peloponnesian War and Alexander the Great. Missing even one lecture sets you back pretty far.

He posts his slides online, but they are not helpful at all. His lecture style is boring and he crams a ton of information into a short amount of time. You will miss important info if you zone out for a few minutes. The material itself is fairly interesting. The tests are pretty difficult, but the essays aren't too bad.

Kegerreis knows what he's talking about & is a solid choice. Lectures are info-packed but thats a given for history. If you're a good writer, TAKE THIS CLASS bc there's 2 papers graded easy. Most lecture material aren't mentioned on exam so read all assigned readings. Attend all TA sections bc participation is 15% of ur grade. Good class overall.
