He was a great professor who meant it when he said you had to read everything assigned. WARNING: THERE IS A LOT OF READING! However, he is straight forward and a genuinely good guy who wants his students to do well. I would definitely take him again.

Dan is good guy who knows a lot about Tibet. Grading was fair and tests were straight-forward. Paper required some creativity. Online postings were a bit experimental and reading is required. Not a terrible amount but the exams demand some specificity. We went over it before the exam. UCSB needs more people like Dan.
