I forgot my designated journal for test-taking due to a panic attack of receiving news of my dog passing. Stayed until after class to explain and apologize. She told me to withdraw or she would fail me. I withdrew. Sadly I have to admit, this class was one of my favorites. Just very sad she didn't seem to believe me.
Shes got a soft spoken voice and that sucked seeing as I took this class as an 8AM. Still, shes a fair person when it comes to getting you to understand the requirements for the class and was also the only professor I had that specifically set up a makeup final exam when the air wasnt breathable during Thomas Fire. She has her priorities straight
Professor Omari is clearly intelligent, but her lecture's feel to be more suited to a group of peers in her field rather than new students in the subject. (Religious stdies course) I have a near perfect GPA and welcome difficult courses, but trying to take notes on her lecture can be difficult as the point of the sentence is obfuscated heavvvily.
She is a very, very smart professor. She attended Yale and you can tell she cares alot about the language. She is very sweet and humble. Only problem is if you don't have a background in Arabic this class takes ALOT of work and attendance is MANDATORY and much of your grade so if you have extracurriculars, class is very hard. Arabic 1-6 very hard.
Dr. Rasha Al-Omari is an AWESOME professor. I had for Advanced Arabic last quarter at UCSB and it was an absolute HONOR studying with her. She is thorough, and has the best personality. She is a bit shy but super understanding with working alongside her students to explain the material. She is super smart and very humble! Keep up the GREAT work. (t
