Has a good heart but is completely tech illiterate and takes three minutes to formulate a sentence with filler words. His points are often repetitive. Not bad considering its asynchronous but if he could upload lectures through gauchocast it'd be much more tolerable. 3 midterms, lecture heavy and easy--imo taking notes from him is the hardest part
3 midterms are the only grades in this class. His lectures are poorly done ramblings and his assigned readings wildly vary. Will eat away your sanity.
This professor talks so slowly that it is incredibly difficult to stay engaged in his lectures. The lecture content is actually very interesting, his delivery is just so slow and repetitive that it is painful to listen to. His speech is riddled with 1-2 second pauses every 5 or so words. I wish his videos could be sped up.
he's a great teacher and I don't understand all of the negative feedback. He's very passionate and encouraging and his lectures are actually really interesting. Yes, he does have an accent and he does tell a lot of stories, but it's not hard to understand him or the material at all. Just pay attention and go to class and you'll be fine!
I don't know why people criticize him so much. Manny is a very well-spoken, intelligent, kind individual whose lectures are quite interesting and clear. He actually inspired me to switch into the Anthropology major. Yes, his tests are a little difficult, but this is college, what did you expect? Study, ask questions, and you'll be just fine.
wow oh wow was his lectures dry, but this is not the important part. the important part is his exams were ridiculously difficult. I feel as though no matter how well I knew this material I still couldn't have received an A in his class. monotone lectures and flyyyy's through slides.Good Luck taking his class...
I love his accent! An interesting and nice man.
I've had him for a couple of my anth classes and he is awesome! The readers he assigns contain very interesting articles. All of his tests are multiple choice, but don't think you can coast by. You'll still have to study to get a better than average grade. He's also a very funny guy and easy to relate to!
I was excited to take this class because I thought world population was an interesting topic but this professor made it very dull. His thick accent was always a struggle to understand (although he would also offer to repeat himself if necesssary). There is a lot of boring assigned reading the you would need to do to get an A.
So boring to listen to, it was hard for me to even go to class. Very repetitive, and the tests are all multiple choice but even if you study hard and understand the material they will still be difficult. It is as if he wants people to get confused while taking the tests, his wording is incorrect and the answer can be argued to fit 2 or more answers
I wish I had heard more about this teacher before I took his Anthropology of Food class. Should be interesting subject matter in and of itself, but delivered through the dull and dry lips of this professor, well. Let's just say that you could learn much more by reading up on the topic on your own. Lectures: mindless, monotonous repetition.
So boring! I was excited about this class before I took it, but Kundu makes an interesting subject completely boring! His tests are tricky and you have to pay attention to detail. He is hard to understand and id very repetitive, so glad this class is over!
