Such a kind, caring, and compassionate person! 3 projects that all tie in with each other, weekly reading and writing reflections.. typical workload for a Writing 2 course. Made it eminent to try and connect and help us all to the best of her ability. Genuinely wants us to succeed. Nit-picky with grading sometimes. Overall solid prof.
loved Dr. Warwick she was so inspirational and kind, cares about her students a lot and really wants the best for us! definitely take her course if you can
Professor Warwick is an awesome instructor in writing course. She is very caring and accessible and always gives inspirational advice. The grading is also not very strict as long as you put in some efforts in completing the two projects throughout the quarter. I believe her workload is much lighter than other writing professors. Highly recommend.
Prof. Warwick is a pleasure to talk to. Her feedback was helpful and I looked forward to receiving it. She actively wanted us to improve in our writing. The projects led for some experimentation that I'd hadn't done in the past and I'm pleased with the results. Take this class out of your own interest! Really great
Prof Warwick was one of the best teachers Ive ever had. So caring, so knowledgeable. The essays/projects assigned were super interesting and unique, not just boring run of the mill synopsis type stuff. Interesting readings and discussions. Such a kind human being and I bonded with her and my classmates even tho the class was online!
Dr. Warwick is really good at teaching writing in my opinion. She does not focus as much on the amount of papers for writing 2, like many other professors. She gives student enough space for their own creative ideas to express themselves in various ways. There's two writing projects, and you can choose your own ways to do them, not limited to essay
Nicole cares about her students more than any professor I have had here at UCSB. She truly helps her students learn how to become better writers. She is funny, charismatic, inspirational, etc. She makes classes so much more enjoyable. She encourages us to take a hands on approach to writing, and teacher very uniquely. Would suggest her to anyone!
Loved Nicole. Extremely welcoming and positive. Coming to her class was great because she made it so welcoming. In terms of grading, she gives great feedback and essentially leaves your grade up to you. Turn in your assignments and show some effort and you have an A. If you get ahead on your homework you'll find the workload to be very doable!
Super pleasure to work with Dr. Warwick in the writing class! She really wants her students to improve their writing and does respect their ideas, and she's very accessible outside class. Her grading contract does give a lot of agency and allows u to do ur own writing. Pay some efforts, improve ur writing & enjoy learning with her!
Dr. Warwick was truly amazing. There were no essays, but there was small readings with journals that had to be done by every class time. The assignments were not bad and were pretty fun. She is very lenient and truly cares for you. Just make sure to put in effort. No final, just a end of the quarter project.
BEST Writing Professor in UCSB!!! took Professor Warwick's Writing 1 class and Writing 2 class. She is so nice and she offered so many feedbacks. I like her so much!!
Took Writing 2 with her Spring 2014, and she is awesome! She gives really good feedback that helps when you need to turn in the portfolio at the end of the quarter. You are guaranteed a B if you attend and do the minimum and will boost it up the more you try. Instead of a portfolio, or paper, she allows you to create a blog for the final project!
Wish I could have used more tags. She is the best professor I've ever had. Take writ 2 with her, you will not regret it. Don't think that it's a class where you show up and you get an A, because it's not. You do need to participate & do the assignments. Honestly, you won't see any of that as "work" w the way she teaches. She wants you to do well.
We had the option of submitting our 3 projects in any form we wanted, whether it was in the form of a blog-like page on mahara, an essay submitted through gauchospace, or if it was just a hard copy. It really helped students become more creative and have fun with writing. She gave a lot of helpful feedback on my drafts and final papers!
chill teacher, had us use online forum she moderates to submit our assignments/give feedback. unique experience and freedom of chooisng topics but have to follow her guidelines.
Lectures felt a bit slow, but that was probably because they met at 5pm… overall she was good, you're essentially guaranteed a B if you complete all assignments and anything higher is determined by the actual quality of your papers. Learned a lot about rhetoric and persuasion and I liked that we got to choose our topic for the second project.
She is a nice person but this class is useless and really just a waste of time. All the work is busy work, the class moves very slowly, and even though it's easy to get done it's so boring. it has nothing to do with the education profession. it barley has anything to do with writing either, she really just rambles about nothing.
She does this interesting grading contract that helps students be graded by their change of writing and effort (something like that). She really tries to be engaging and involved and Is sweet!
Love this woman! There are three very easy writing projects and are not graded harshly! She really cares about her students wants all her students to pass! Totally recommend her! She is by far one of the best professors I have ever had at UCSB! 10/10
This is the worst class I have ever taken EVER. She is so unstructured and honestly has no clue what she is doing. She talks on and on about pointless things and does not actually teach. She seems like she would grade easy but really does not at all. Dont be fooled by any of these 5 star rate my professor reviews.
Nicole is really awesome!!! She used grading contract which both gave students opportunity to get a decent grade & to improve their writing instead of looking for instructors' pleasure. She's super accessible outside the class in her office hour/via Zoom. Highly recommend her class for your journey of writing!
Best English professor ever
This was Wariwicks first time teaching 107B, so she relied on her colleagues for material and teaching. The textbook we read isnt mandatory but is actually helpful if you take the time to read it. Easy class
Nicole provides feedback for every assignment, allows you to revise assignments, and is one of the BEST writing teachers at UCSB. Not only do you learn, but also are given the opportunity to do extremely well grade wise. 10/10 must take
