He is a straight forward lecturer. He makes class more fun by bringing in demos. His tests are fair and clear. He's not so bad to look at either. :-)
Ernest is a great guy. Only problem is that he he used to live in a truck.
Ernest completely got me INTO physics. I learned to LOVE physics because of the way he taught and because of his awesome demos. He's easy to talk to and you can even drink with him in I.V. or downtown. Thanks Ernest
Funny, kool dude. Girlz think he's hot. lectures are ok, exams are ok, --fairly easy. probably the best teaching dude around sb(doesn't mean he's THAT good though). Recommendable
Definately the most entertaining class Ive had at UCSB. He is a great teacher, has fun demos, and the questions on the tests are straight from lecture. Too bad he doesnt teach 6C...
he was friendly, clear, and able to answer questions well. tests were fair.
Ernest is hot, he shoots people with his demos and with his curve anyone can pass. Ernest Rocks!
Um, HOTTIE!!! Not everyday your Prof. is your age and HOT!!! Did I mention, he's hot??? I'm sure if you do more then stare at his arms and butt when he writes on the board like I did, then you will do fine, but I passed anyway. :) Oh & um,
good lord that is one beautiful man!! his lectures are really good too and the demos always keep class interesting. sometimes he has a little bit of trouble explaining things, but that's what the office hours are for ;)
Ya he is hot, but he simply can't teach. His presentations are all over the place and hard to follow. His tests are not fair at all, super hard questions worth lots of points each. Lectures are sometimes entertaining though.
Ernest is totally awesome. He makes physics interesting and does great demos. He's also good at bringing it to your level so that you can understand what he's talking about. Great class!
Hot as f**k!!! I go to class just to see him which actually helps me. Class is fun. He does great experiments.
can we say ****ing gorgeous?...and that chalk all over his arms...yum yum
Younger guy with a PhD. If you dont read or do homework youre screwed. Sad to say, but doing the homework and not going to lecture is the best way through this class, he'll only confuse you. Great in-class demo's though.
GOAT. Online class is even easier
He's rly good at explaining the material conceptually and showing us how to apply the equations to different situations n stuff. He kinda gets sidetracked at times but not in ways that detract from the lecture. He'll just start a sentence and cut himself off to talk abt smth else but always circles back to the main point eventually.

I love Freund. I've had him the whole 6 series and he's just a good person. He cares about students, and is always upbeat about everything. He's also always facing pressure from the physics department to make his exams harder, so he tries to add Geller questions to exams. However, if you do well enough on his questions, you can still do well.
goated professor seriously this man is a gem - that 6B final tho was not cool mannn :(
I love Freund. His exams are purely based on the weekly quizzes. As long as you memorize how to do those specific questions, you can basically score 100% on every exam. Attendance isn't mandatory, so I stopped going halfway through the quarter because his lectures are a little boring. But, he tries his best to joke and make them interesting.
Given the choice between him and Geller, I'd choose Freund in a heartbeat. He's super funny and relatable, and he explains things well. His test and quiz questions are also super basic Your grade is only based on the midterms, final, and quizzes. Not many practice materials besides practice midterms/finals and quizzes
bro he graded harder than geller this quarter
would sdssdsds
One of the best professors I've had. The material can be tricky, but Freund's lectures and practice problems make it manageable. Definitely do the prep work - unstuck AI was a lifesaver alongside the textbook. Engaging class, would take again in a heartbeat.
