Bob is one of my favourite professors at UCSB so far. He's incredibly interesting and makes accounting practical and entertaining. One great thing he does (that all other professors should do) is poll the class on whether they understood a new concept or if he should rephrase it. Past exams are VERY useful. Use them. Midterms/Final extremely fair.
Very good teacher. Funny and entertaning. Online quizzes and assignments are doable you just need the book. Midterm and Final were fair, but you have to study. Very cool guy, makes things interesting.
Bob Anderson is the best!! Listen to him during lectures and do the practice exams and you will get a good grade. One of my favorite professors!
Bob is a great teacher. He makes a typically "boring" subject interesting. If you read the book and review his lectures, plus do the practice tests, which are nearly identical to the test, you'll do fine. The grade curve that the econ department sets is a bit of a burn but I really loved his class and wish he taught 3B too.
He is funny and entertaining in class. The thing that helped me the best was doing the practice midterms. Know everything from past midterms he posts and you will do find on the actual one. The one time I went to office hours he was not that nice or helpful, but the TAs are more than willing to help. CLAS also helped a lot with this class.
Great teacher that explains everything clearly. Not the easiest class but if you do the work and pay attention you're fine
he is a really bad teacher. the tests all seem easy, only to get a c. his lectures are absolutely useless
I like Bob as a person but I hated him as a teacher. He was tangental, didn't provide students with notes that were that beneficial. I would study for his midterms and feel confident only to get Cs on all of my tests. I took the class Pass Fail so it worked out fine but his teaching style just wasn't for me.
Bob's lectures are somewhat interesting. Most of the material from the midterms and test are from the hw online. Just study the book and study the examples Bob gives you and you will do fine in this class.
he seems like a good guy when he's lecturing--funny, down to earth, nice--but when you meet him in person or when he emails you back, he seems like a complete ****. office hours dont really help since he looks at you like you're stupid.
Really good guy. Study the practice midterms he puts up, he repeats questions straight out of his old ones. The aplia homework is easy, everyone gets almost 100%. Sign up for CLAS with tony cipriano, he is helpful. Class is interesting with all of Bob's jokes. I would take a class with him again.
My favorite professor and econ class thus far. I've taken econ 1 and 2, didn't expect to like accounting. Now I'm seriously considering emphasizing in it. He has current professional experience in the field which is helpful and a nice change from the other professors. I'd highly recommend taking his class.
His class is not "very" hard, but you still have to put some effort in it.
he is an absolutely funny guy. loved him.would have dated him if i was older.you can get a straight A by just practicing his previous test. classes can get boring but he keeps you well entertained.
Does not ensure that he is on the same page as the rest of the class, leaves you lost hopeless and confused...worst class I've taken at UCSB by far, the textbook is useless (and $)and he attempts to cover too much material. His lectures are EXTREMELY incomprehensible and hard to take notes on, especially when trying to go back to study, DO NOT TAK
Easy midterms- posts old midterms to practice with, use them! Hard final- does not post old finals. Wiley Plus homework is annoying but easy to get 100%. Watch out for the final, he makes it very difficult to prevent the curve from being too high in the class.
Awesome professor. Old midterms, and power points are online. Most of the time he recycles his multiple choice and problems. Everything gone over in class if you read the book to go over material again, helps. Great professor take him if you get the chance!
I was scared about this class but thanks to Bob it ended up being my favorite class! He makes lectures fun and the slides are really helpful. He explains concepts with real world examples so that everything makes sense. He also goes over concepts constantly to make sure everyone understands. He's also very funny and often tells funny stories. A++
great professor. Post all previous midterms which makes studying a breeze. Makes a seemingly boring class interesting often goes off on tangents though. Take 3A with bob
he is such an amazing teacher he makes accounting really easy to understand and really cares about his students. he puts all the old midterms online so if you just do all of them before the midterms you will definitely ace the class. i definitely recommend him!
Bob is the best! For those of you complaining about boredom, it's accounting, he makes it as interesting as its gonna get. Great guy great class, you do need to study. But he gives you old midterms to study off of and if you know them you're golden.
class is hard!! anderson is super boring and he doesn't help much either. do yourself a favor and don't take this class!

He is a good professor. He posts practice tests that are pretty much the same as his current tests. He does throw in some random questions that have nothing to do with the subject and the only way you will know the answer is if you have gone to all the lectures.
