Pedro is the kindest professor I've had. He goes out of his way to help you learn and I felt respected as a person. I'm able to have short conversations in Spanish now and it's definitely because of this class. The only parts that really were difficult were the homework assignments, which he sadly has no control over.
Pedro is a great professor. I enjoyed taking his class and will take it again next quarter. He wants to see everyone succeed. I definitely recommend taking a course with him. There is always homework but it isn't too bad. The only thing that I did not like was having to pay for the online textbook and the lingua meeting sessions.
Pedro Craveiro is an awesome Portuguese teacher. He makes every class entertaining. I took this class for my major and I highly recommend it.
Pedro is incredibly kind and he really cares about his students! The assignments definitely require a lot of effort, but I can confidently say my Spanish has improved quite a lot over the quarter and the people I've spoken to agree. 100% recommend rearranging your schedule to take his classes!
It's rare to find a professor who truly cares about their students like Pedro. He is attentive and ensures everyone understands a topic before moving on. He creates a positive learning environment and encourages group work and speaking in Portuguese. His was the only class that quarter that I was sad to miss when I was sick. I 100% recommend!
Had Pedro for PORT125A and he is awesome. He just wants you to succeed and get something out of his courses that you can apply to your specific major. Highly recommend any of his random elective classes.
Dr. Craveiro is one of the most amazing professor at UCSB. He is really approachable and also wise. His class is really interesting and always full of joy. If anyone has enrolled into one of his class, they are LUCKY.
Pedro is easily one of the best professors I've had! He was incredibly understanding and very patient with everyone in our class and worked really hard to make sure we all did well. Definitely hoping to take more classes with him in the future.
My favorite professor in UCSB, he knows how to be a good teacher for students! I feel very lucky to have him!!
Span 1 is one of my favorite classes in the 2022 fall quarter. It was the first formal experience in learning Spanish as my third-language in college level. Prof. Pedro really does great in encouraging students in speaking Spanish and helping us to understand the context. His classroom is so interesting and super supportive. He's very patient, too!
Loved him, wonderful instructor
Pedro teaches in a way that allows you to fully understand the context/grammar of Spanish, and get you EXCITED & PASSIONATE about the language and its culture. He truly wants his students to succeed and his teaching is very organized with clear instructions. He is so kind and approachable, receiving feedback from him really allowed me to improve!
Pedro is the best Spanish teacher at UCSB. He is very caring of his students and makes an incredible effort to help everyone. He is truly a blessing to the university and is a remarkable human being. Take a class with him and you will see there is still hope for humanity. Pedro if you're seeing this: THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR SUCH A GREAT QUARTER
Pedro is not only a great teacher but also a great mentor who will be accessible inside and outside the classroom. He will go out of his way to accommodate you. He is truly interested in learning the language. I highly recommend his class if you want to learn the language from a native speaker.
One of the best professors at UCSB! He makes learning fun and interactive, while also building a relationship with each student making him one of the most understanding instructors here. Type of professor to reach out and extend a help if he notices you falling behind. Excellent teacher and makes me want to visit Portugal one day.
I honestly walked into the class to fulfill a requirement but ended up interested in trying to become fluent in Portuguese because of Pedro. He always made sure we were seen as humans first then students and it reflected in the way he taught. He not only made the class fun but had great material to help us learn.
Pedro is amazing! I have been in three of his classes and he definitely supports and cares for every student. Make sure you do all the assignments and have a good communication with him in case you have questions or concerns. He really motivates you to do well in the class. He is one of the reasons why I'm doing a Portuguese major!respectable &fun
Esse cara é bem maneiro. Tudo mundo deve tomar sua aula. 10/10!
Pedro is a true gem at UCSB! He is the best language professor I've ever had. I know that during the time I was in his class, I became very comfortable with my Portuguese speaking skills. If I could give Pedro 6 stars, I would. He does give a bit of homework at times, but in the end, it is beneficial for us students. He's an amazing teacher!
Super caring and funny. Taught me everything I know about Portuguese! 10/10 guy
Pedro was an awesome professor!! He was really caring and wanted us all to do well. Tests are simple if you pay attention and he gives lots of extra chances for you to do well
Pedro is one of the best professors I've had at UCSB. He's always caring towards his students and recognizes that we have other things to do outside of his class. The classroom atmosphere is student-centered, so he doesn't lecture or talk for the entire class. Participation is key! He always does fun activities to test your knowledge of Portuguese.
Pedro is the kind of instructor that makes you excited to get up and go to class every morning. He carefully crafts each of his lectures and its never the same routine. He changes them up and makes them super interactive. He will take the time to get to know each and every student on a personal level and work with you one on one if needed.
I highly recommend taking his class for 1-3!!! Pedro is a graduate student from Porto, Portugal, so he is very knowledge about the course material. I took Portuguese 1-3 (a full year) with Pedro and it was one of my favorite experiences at UCSB. It is a language class so there is a decent amount of work but he is always available to help!
