The lectures are literally from the book. If you read the book, you can skip class. Had to memorize around 200 images for the midterm. Cut down to 100 for the final. A few images were not from the book, but I was able figure them out & Google them for info. Participate in section. You can do well if you try. At least it counts for a lot of GE reqs
She's definitely a pretty bad teacher but she's easier than the other raters are making her out to be. Grade's based on Midterm, Paper, Final and Section Participation/Attendance. Tests are image identification (Title,Artist,Location,Date,Significance) map test, true/false, and essay response. Images for test go up a week beforehand.
She's a new professor learning the ropes but I think she's doing a great job so far. She definitely improved during the second half of the quarter. I like that all important material was covered in lecture so I didn't have to waste my money on the archaic textbook. I'm a science/math type of guy but she managed to make art history interesting.
Prof. Moser does not keep students engaged during class. I feel that it would be better to spend my time at home and read the book because she is basically reading the book for me when I go to class. Her lectures are boring and there is no clear point and her essay topics are so general you have no idea what to do.
PASS/NO PASS! PASS NO/PASS!
The lectures feel like they have no purpose. She quickly talks about one piece of art and then moves on to the next, giving little to no detail of each one. I walk away from the lectures with no clue of what is significant. I recommend typing your notes because she moves too fast to hand write every single word she says.
Her lectures just repeat what we're reading in the textbook. She lists fact after fact without pause and will leave you with dozens of pages of useless notes. When asked about what will be on the midterm, she says whatever she spent the most time on in class. So make sure you record the amount of time spent on each fact on your notes to do well.
Claudia is a terrible professor. Her lectures are based off entirely of the book. She basically reads off of it to us and her ppts slides have random information + she does not upload that info on gauchospace. Pretty sure she does not know what she is talking about.
