Best physics prof. his lectures are interesting and he has demos almost evertyday. Test are very hard but multiple choice, you only get 1 hour on the midterms so do not take your time.

Lipman is a very nice guy but his lectures can be hard to follow. Homework is hard but if you go to CLAS drop in you will get it done everytime. With little expamples in either the book or his lectures it can be very hard to do hwk or follow in lecture.

lectures are easy to follow but he focuses entirely on concepts and rarely mentions applications. the homework is really hard, and the tests (all multiple choice) is kinda a toss up, either really hard or decent. u have to be prepared to spend at least like 6 hrs on homework a week

He is a really nice guy. His lectures are clear and straight foward, and his tests are relatively easy. Tends to focus on concepts a bit to much though rather than applying them to examples like the homework (which is hard), but still an overall good prof.

very clear when he lectures... however he'll talk about the same thing for like 5 days and just leave you in the dark when it comes to what you should be learning and what is on the hw. book is lame and not at all helpful... dont waster your money. take CLAS! 1st mideterm was easy 2nd was impossible

Lectures clear enough, homework demanding but necessary - this IS physics. But, his tests baffled me. Multiple choice, but unclear and confusing. Nice guy, but there must be a better way. Take CLAS too, as the book is no use.

He is the best Physics 1 lecturer. Very clear and concise. He conducts a well organized, well taught class. I worked very hard to get a B though, and doing every homework problem is a must. The textbook is useless, ask other peers for help

Excellent lecturer, plenty of cool physics demos. Great at addressing student questions during breaks in lecture. The textbook was awful, so I'm not sure how well I would have done it I hadn't had Physics in high school, but I'm not sure if that was in his control.

Had AP physics before, so this was mostly a review. Lectures are always a little bit behind the homework. Most of the time for this clas is spent doing CAPA homework, some of the problems were pretty tricky. Take CLAS and sign up for Ronny Votel - he is the best CLAS teacher out there.

This class is quite difficult. The homework was always hard, I put tons of hours over the quarter doing it. Multiple choice tests. Lipman is cool professor, lecture was interesting with all the experiments and he says funny jokes sometimes. Take CLAS for this one.

With no previous physics classes, this was definitely a hard class. However, if you go to his office hours, he's extremely helpful. Tests are multiple choice yet still manage to be challenging. Generally very clear. Overall a good teacher. I recommend taking a CLAS.

I have taken an AP physics class before so I thought that this one would be a breeze, but it wasn't. I say forget everything you thought you knew and try to learn it all again because the homework is hard. The tests are mult. choice though.

He gives out hw twice a week and they weren't easy. I thought his tests were hard, but he's very clear, neat, and interesting.

Nice guy. Tests are easy

Lipman is a pretty good lecturer and I personally have found the class to be pretty easy.
