His lectures are useless. His homework is ok, but the tests tend to be unrelated to the homework and the lectures. Avoid if possible.

had him for math 3b and 60% of the class failed. i dont know what wrong with the world, but in all honesty, 60% must have been a little mentally challenged. the tests were difficult, but not ridiculous to the extent people claim. study, do the homework, and you will get at least a B if you have any background in calculus.

He's a terrible teacher and then refuses to curve. If you go to lecture you won't learn anything. He failed 50% of the engineering majors in the class. I would never take another class from him.

This class was ridiculously hard. Many people failed. His curve barely helps. I would avoid at all costs. During lecture, students would constantly interrupt him to point out all his mistakes, so I ended up leaving campb hall more confused. Take CLAS for sure

This guy commonly spent lectures talking about random things that have nothing to do with math. when he does talk about math, he spends the majority of time talking about how NOT to do problems. Also made 30% of the final something he said he wouldnt test on.

I always did well in my math classes. Until I had Akemann.

Horrible, failed a very large percentage of the students, most unfair tests u can imagine, with no curve! what ever you do don't take AKemann. There was even an article on the nexus because he failed so many people.

I used to like math, but he basically ruined it for me. Tests have a little bit of a curve, which helped some, but not much. Lectures were boring and confusing. I'd suggest you avoid taking his class if you can.

enroll in CLAS and do all homework assignments if you want to pass this class. akemann has illegible handwriting. cannot teach well at all!

funny as hell at times but the class definitely screwed me over. Him farting in class apparantly didn't make up for his hard tests. Maybe i should have done the homework.:/

Funny guy, really nice, but you really have to work yourself. He doesn't collect homework but almost 100% of your grade is based on the final! So don't mess up.

Why did 50% of the class fail? BAD GRADING SYSTEM AKKEMAN, FIX IT!

Avoid taking this course at all costs. The professor's teaching style is extremely unorganized, with no syllabus or clear expectations. Rely on study tools like unstuck ai, ChatGPT, and open courses to make up for the lack of in-class support.

No syllabus provided for the course; not even sure if that's legal. Throughout the entire quarter, there hasn't been a single instance of the professor presenting a rigorous proof. No solutions to weekly homework sets. No midterm, so no idea on what to expect on the final that's worth 50%. Overall the most unorganized course I've taken all my life.
