HIST17A . 5 Months Ago

Prof. Moore is a great instructor. Her lectures are clear and well-paced. The syllabus outlines how to succeed in the course, so you shouldn't have any trouble. Lectures are insightful and her exams are fair. There are weekly readings to complete before section, but they are very short and contribute well to discussion section. Fun and easy A.

Professor Moore taught 17A with passion, always encouraging discussion and exploration into the topics. Homework shouldn't take more than a few hours a week. Instructions for essays/exams were very clear. Lectures aren't mandatory, but important and somewhat hard to miss. Take good notes. Section is important too, get to know your TA!

Class consisted of midterm and final along with weekly lecture quizzes and 500-word primary source reading reflections. Attend lecture and you'll pass the quizzes, reflections were always easy, and midterm and final will be fine as long as you study. Professor Moore was always very sweet and I loved my TA Gavin Williams.

moore is FANTASTIC. shes an engaging presenter, even when the history is dull, and you can tell she cares a lot. she doesn't post her lectures, so while it's not mandatory", you need to go to pass the weekly 10 Q quizzes. ur reading 3 primary sources a week w/ a reflection, so not too bad for workload. exams r based on lecture topics. def take this

fast-paced lectures (posted on canvas after), but super interesting and helpful for exams. Midterm was an in-class essay, but I thought they were simple. Weekly writing assignments based on weekly readings (only 500 words). weekly lecture quizzes too (online). The section was so worth going to. The final was take take-home essay.

Super easy class, prof sometimes gets a little boring when lecturing. Weekly quizzes based on the lectures and the powerpoint slides. First essay, midterm, and final were all pretty easy but they were a couple pages long. Section participation was 30% of the grade, so make sure you go. Prof is very understanding. A little boring but an easy A.

Graded based on a midterm, final, book report essay, and attendance/participation. Overall there's a fair amount of reading but the professor is an easy grader.

grade is based on essay 1, 2, and 2 final essays + section participation. really nice and respectful prof & simple, easy to follow lectures and weekly readings that you'd talk about in section to later use in your essays. pretty easy essay prompts as long as you stay caught up w/content! was iffy about history courses at first, but loved this class

Professor Moore's course reminded me of why I wanted to major in history to begin with. Her PowerPoints are in-depth and posted for access ahead of time, but her lectures are well worth attending. The weekly quizzes aren't bad either. She solicits responses in class and keeps lectures engaged, and was accommodating of COVID growing pains.

Professor Moore is great lecturer and as someone who used to find history boring she defintely made this class easy to enjoy. She is super organized and the readings are not super long. The weekly quizzes are easy if you attend lecture and use the slides. The midterm, ID, and final are also easy as all the information is basically given to you.

Easy A with minimal reading and shorter essays than usual in history classes.

You can pass the class just by the posted lecture slides, but it's so worth it to go to class and listen to Prof Moore's lectures. She's a great lecturer (every class feels a bit like a TED Talk) and the lens that she teaches through is interesting and engaging. Easy reading, great lectures, and not much work each week. Fully recommend!

This class was super easy as long you go to lectures. There are weekly quizzes but the answers can be taken right off the powerpoint slides from lecture. Only two papers and were graded super easy, as long as you had a thesis and an argument, you got an A. The professor is also really good at answering questions about anything!

felt a bit like APUSH at times but overall was an easy and interesting class. textbook is optional and weekly primary source readings were fairly simple. no tests, just a paper, short-answer midterm, final essay, and weekly lecture quizzes. really informative lectures that take a bit of a different approach to traditional early American history

Clear grading criteria and extremely accommodating professor. Class can be passed by just using lecture slides. Prof. Moore's lectures are based heavily on the slides. Midterm and final are online.

The class was online and asynchronous, so we didn't have that many opportunities for interaction, but she always responded to emails pretty quickly. Her lectures are okay, and the writing assignments are pretty easy. The class requires minimal reading.
