He is not there for you although he pretends to be.
Professor Fulkerson is a really good professor. He worked at E & Y so he is able to give students lots of insight about potential careers and the field in general. He gives really constructive responses to academic questions and he will put effort into email responses. His lectures are not boring since he breaks down all the technical stuff well.
I liked my time with Scott. 132A was the only class I took with him, but I found it straightforward and educational. There are 2 tests in the course and no finals week exam. The rest of the grade is from HW and the audit simulations. I found the sims hard at first, but valuable in showing what a real audit is like. He's pretty funny too. SCOTT GOAT
One of my worst experiences at Santa Barbara. Not only was the professor not good at all in teaching valuation and evaluating companies (kept talking about his audit experience even though this course has nothing to do with audit) but he is a horrible grader as well. I scored top of class in both the exams, had 100% in all home work and I was given
Neither the brain-burned knowledge nor tough grading can stop you from loving this guy. He's so charming and fair, doing his best to make us the best.
Everything is great about Scott. Just wish we could see which test questions we got wrong.
Scott is wonderful! He's funny and uses his real life experience to explain different concepts that appear in his classes. I've taken him for 3 different courses and have always left delighted. He's my favorite accounting professor at UCSB. The tests are difficult but he outlines what will be on them. Other than that, the grading isn't that bad
He creates a massive amount of STRESS and WORK for the students. Usually, studying all his slides, you will ace the exam. But all his questions now are from Wiley Plus and the questions ridiculously difficult. For the final, I have to study all 8 chapters and practice at least 250 question/chap. He gave great lectures, but even greater stress!
Scott's a good teacher! He sets clear grading requirements and makes sure to focus on the things you actually need to know. And when the coronavirus situation caused UCSB to cancel classes, he handled the situation well and kept us posted throughout the entire process. Would recommend!
Scott is the man. I got an F on the final and still ended with an A-. The reason was probably because we had the best presentation. That out of the way, he wont follow you on instagram so that hurts. Other than that cant find anything bad to say about him.
Scott is a great guy! Hes one of the chillest accounting professors who is always willing to talk to students about anything. He does make his exams hard but the class is curved so it ends up being okay. Get to know him, pay attention in class, and PARTICIPATE! The only thing that sucks about this class is the project if you get a bad group.
Loved this professor! He is super nice and very accessible during office hours. His lectures were interesting and he gave lots of real-world examples from his years of working at EY. Very clear grading criteria and the curve in 136a helped.
Took Fulkerson for both 3A and 136A, and he was great both times. Fulkerson cares about his students' success in class and career as well. His tests are a bit tricky, but people can still get As, so you can too. 10/10 recommended
I had Scott for 3B and 136A, getting A's in both. Here's how to do it: Go to every lecture b/c he says what's not on test, don't lose silly points on homework, and study for tests by doing the end of chapter HW problems on Wiley (sends out answers). Tricky exams, but they are fair. If you see ever see his name, take the class. Sarcastic & funny
