Had Scott for Chem 1A/B. I came in knowing a little bit of chem (not AP), and got A+'s in both chem 1A and 1B. He really goes out of his way to make the concepts easy to understand, and before each midterm/final, hosts a review session just to make sure you do well. Do all the book problems, you'll definitely get at least an A- if you do.
Professor Price is probably one of the best teachers I have ever had. His enthusiasm for chemistry definitely keeps people interested. He is very helpful during office hours. He's a great guy, very nice and he cares about his students. Would definitely recommend him if you need to take chemistry.
Very good professor. Genuinely excited about teaching chemistry. Like, his enthusiasm made me want to go to lecture. Didn't study well and received a C, but that was my own fault. Huge curve really helped. Best chem professor, I think. He's also really hot. Really. Hot.
Excellent professor; the best teacher I've ever seen in an academic setting. He is funny and brilliant & extremely helpful. He sends tons of emails with prep & review questions, and emails his presentations in advance. You can see he genuinely cares about chemistry & wants his students to be as excited. Consider yourself very lucky if you get him.
Best chemistry professor i've ever had
Price is a great professor. His midterms and quizzes had some tricky questions, but their difficulty was balanced by the huge curve implemented at the end of the course. His lectures were always helpful for the homework and his lecturing style is conducive to note-taking. He is a good speaker and is well-prepared for lectures, highly recommended.
Price really wants his students to do their best and tries to make chemistry exciting/interesting. It's in your best interest to go to lecture- he has slides on Gauchospace, but writes on the whiteboard to accompany those slides. He sends out e-mails and follow-up problems to do. You must commit the time to understanding the concepts.
Tests are hard but the curve helps. Price genuinely cares for his students and tries his hardest to help them out. He gives good advice for studying for the class. Listen to him. He knows what he is talking about.
He is probably one of he nicest professors you will ever have. Really hard and challenging class, but take advantage of the emails he sends before lecture, they are very helpful. Do the book problems, take CLAS, go to office hours, make your time on ALEKS as efficient as possible, and an A is certainly possible. Study hard though!
Price was great at explaining concepts clearly. The tests were challenging and he expects a lot from his students. Overall I really enjoyed his class, he made chemistry fun and interesting and has his students' best interests in mind.
Such a great guy! He genuinely cares about his students and makes sure they do well. If you do everything in the email he sends out before every lecture, you're good to go. His midterms and final are definitely a battle to get through, but it's understandable. He is always ready to help you with your questions. It doesn't hurt he's amazing looking.
Excellent professor who really loves chemistry and loves to teach. I really appreciated his emails on the daily on what we should expect in class and what we should do to prepare. CLAS helped as well. 2 midterms and 2 quizzes which were very do able and final was cumulative of the entire class focusing on concepts that everyone missed.
Scott is an Amazing person. He's passionate about his work and cares about his students. Judging from other students, his class became increasingly harder, but he's usually generous with the curve.Fair warning though, out of all professors I've met so far he's the hottest and youngest one out there so it's easy to get distracted. I know I did =)
He can explain fundamental concepts well...but he expects way too much from you on exams (if you want an A that is), you must make many leaps on your own to gain that A. Unfortunately many of these ratings make Dr. Price look like the holy grail of Chem profs at UCSB...but I would say he is of average quality just the same as all the other profs
Bad. stay away. his lectures were very confusing and he didn't respond to emails and i went to office hours and he helped 1 kid while another 30 of us just wasted our time. quizzes are impossible
good professor. quirky guy.
He is super funny and attractive! His class is always entertaining and I loved all the demos he did with his music selection. Favorite professor I had by far.
Great Professor. He keeps it interesting and did demos more often than not. In lecture he goes over problems which really helps out. He definitely teaches everything you need to know in a clear way. Funny and nice guy too.
loveeeeeeed scott. honestly, such a fun professor and I was always paying attention. Although his class is really chill, his test were really hard (for me). So if you study all the super hard lecture problems you should be fine.
Dr Price helped me understand undergrad quantum chemistry! And I am in complete agreement with his class, he is a total cutie-hottie professor!
Price is a great professor. He does a lot of helpful examples during lecture. His sense of humor makes class really fun and interesting. He is very attractive. Attendance is pretty much mandatory because he uses iClickers. Loved the class
Dr. Price is an amazing teacher and is very clear in his explanations. It is evident that Dr. Price enjoys teaching and puts the students first. His class is never boring, and his demos are the coolest! The music really adds a nice element to the presentation. He might be young and hot, but he still knows how to teach. *Ugly mask!*
Scott is an amazing professor, not to mention a very good looking professor. He is extremely helpful and makes the material straightforward and easy to comprehend. His class is entertaining and I find myself looking forward to his lectures and demos.
best. teacher. ever.
