Overall a decent class, lectures are like attending a funeral however. You can either read or go to lecture, doing both is extremely redundant, all he does is summarize the reading. Only paper was a book review. Midterm/Final was all multiple choice and true false, Very easy as well. No tricky questions, all straightforward. A very easy A.
as long as you read the textbook your good. He mostly goes over in lecture what the reading from the text book was about.
He is very caring and geniunely cares about his students. Did not expect this from a college prof.
Gallucci is such a BORING lecturer. He speaks in parentheses, with no enthusiasm, it was impossible not to get distracted. The topic is interesting, I just wish I took the class with someone else. Crowd in lecture was skim. I don't blame them. He was painful to listen to. He made me dread a class I normally would have LOVED. LECTURE WAS SO BORING!
Friendly professor, knows his stuff. Lectures however, are completely pointless as all he does is stand at the front and mumble. Going to lecture is a waste of time, just read the assigned readings, attend section (also pointless but they give quizzes) and you'll get an A. This class offers probably the easiest Literature GE you can get at UCSB.
Getting an A in this class is very likely as long as you attend lecture. At times it's hard to understand what he's saying since he mumbles and speaks low so sit in the front. He will most likely let you crash the class if you need to since he is very understanding.
Gallucci is a great professor and makes it super easy to get an A. Tests come STRAIGHT from lecture -- assigned reading is merely supplemental. Tests are simple and straightforward, no tricks: if you attend class and pay attention, you'll get an A. He wants his students to succeed. Even holds his own review session! Nice guy, great professor.
This class was EXTREMELY boring. And rather difficult. I showed up to almost every lecture and studied like crazy yet i still ended up with a D in it. I'm an graduation senior, a lower division class should not be this difficult. The material we were going to be tested on was also vague and almost completely irrelevant to the reading
A good teacher but too repetitive. Very interesting subject but be sure to go to lecture because it's a good supplement for the readings.
Professor was very helpful, willing to talk to you. Actually lead the study group before exams rather than handing it off to a TA. Would definitely take another class from him.

Great course in Greek mythology. Discussion seems kind of pointless but lectures are important for the tests. Gallucci has a genuine interest in the success of his students and doesn't employ any tricks on the tests. Shows lots of videos in class. If you slack off too much it's not an easy A.
Gallucci is the man. He is a great guy and his class is pretty easy. I definately would take another class from him.

He begins most of his run-on sentences with "In antiquity..." But he is a nice guy and if you go to class he will reward you.
just read the material and don't show up to class and you should be fine. i missed 5 of the last 8 classes, and i still got a pretty high A. he really wants to connect to students so take advantage of office hours to chat and such...
Galluc is the man, easy classes just a little bit too much reading. Hes always willing to help if you show an interest and talk to him about a problem. He once let my friend add one of his classes 5 weeks into the quarter because he needed one more class to graduate. hes awesome same map quiz for all his classes
just go to class an pay attention and take notes and its an easy A. You dont even have to read, he shows a video explaining everything almost every class.
Dr. Gallucci is a great guy - he knows his stuff, and he wants nothing more than to have fun teaching that stuff to others, and watching them succeed. Most likely, his classes are so easy because he wants them to be - he's a great guy.

He knows the material, but he's a very bad speaker. His lectures are meandering and monotone. Constantly saying "uhh" in mid sentence. His lectures just made everything more confusing.
He's a cool guy-has a sense of humor. Lots of reading, but it's not difficult. Don't slack, read and go to class when you can. You can pull off an A with some B effort.
Easy class, just got to do the readings.
