LOVED HER!! She prepares you really well for the 2 exams (midterm and final). I never did the readings and got an easy A because her lectures were more than enough. She also records them, so if you miss class it's not the end of the world. Definitely take her!

Wertz is an amazing professor! Class has short weekly quizzes that are unlimited tries, weekly discussion posts, midterm, final, and 2 article summaries. All the assignments are very easy. Lectures are also recorded and uploaded. There is also lots of leeway with the assignments and she gives flexibility with how many you can miss with some of them

i absolutely LOVED this class! It was super easy. 1 midterm and 1 noncumulative final, weekly quzzies, and a couple of eli review assignments. i would DEF take this class again because it was super interesting and low stress class. i didnt study for the midterm at all and still passed it, i studied for the final and aced it. super doable :)

Wertz is amazing!!! Super easy class if you actually commit yourself to learning and studying, I was able to finish the class with a 101% after extra credit was inputted!! She's so sweet and I really learned so much, take her !

Professor Wertz is an absolutely amazing professor and I feel extremely lucky to have taken PSY 105 with her. She is very caring and goes out of her way to make her lectures engaging and interesting in the way she presents the material. I would 1000% take this course again! There is only one midterm and a final, very manageable!

wertz is very easy going and makes it extremely clear on what needs to be done to pass her class. not only that, she goes above and beyond to provide extra materials to get a better understanding of course material and for exam prep. weekly quizzes and discussion boards, 2 article summaries, and two exams.

This professor is amazing. She's genuinely the only professor i've had at UCSB this far where I actually enjoy and prefer to attend all her lectures. You can see the passion for what she teaches shine through. Sign up for her class! i highly recommend studying past quizzes and slides to prep for her tests.

Had her for Fall Quarter 2024 and it was one of those classes where I could be super tired, but I would still go to her lectures because they were so interesting! She makes it easy for you to succeed if you just put in the required effort (which is not that much). Take her for developmental psych!!!

this class was super easy with one midterm and non-cumulative final. the prof was so approachable and nice and the lectures were very engaging. attendance wasnt mandatory but the lectures were always full bc wertz is awesome :)

LOVEEEE HER explains topics in really engaging ways and the content was interesting. Tests were fair and the course load is light just a weekly reading, quiz, and discussion. Also her research through the LILAC lab is super interesting and you can tell she's passionate about the subject! 10/10 recommend

An incredible professor!! Her lectures are very interesting and engaging. Super easy to reach outside of class. Could not recommend her class more. There are weekly quizzes (unlimited attempts) and weekly discussion boards (no word count minimum). Her exams use quiz questions(word for word) and are theory based. Dr. Wertz is an amazing professor, and I absolutely LOVED her class. You can tell she has a true passion for what she is teaching. There are weekly online quizzes that you can take an unlimited amount of times, one midterm, a final, and an article summary assignment near the end of the quarter. The final is non-cumulative as well. Highly recommend!

Her class was fun and engaging, I would recommend for dev psych. Her exams are straight forward and are based on her lectures. Keep up with lectures and quizzes and you will do fine in her class.

Dr. Wertz knocked it out of the park. She makes the already interesting subject matter very fun to learn through the way she structures her lectures. The assignments are easy, final isn't cumulative, for exams you just have to pay attention during lecture. I had so much fun learning — I'm sad it's almost over… TAKE THIS CLASS!!!

Great professor with clear lectures, but no recordings. Although participation is not mandatory, it is crucial to attend class and listen.
