He is someone that would be a really cool, entertaining friend, but as a professor he is VERY hard to listen to. He walks around the entire room constantly and the biggest distraction in the class is himself. He doesnt clarify what material he wants you to know. He'd be a great friend, but he's not a good professor.

Walid is funny, he loves to talk about his kids. I took his class for three week summer class. The reading is very managable and easy to understand. He says he grades the paper really hard but hes not that bad. Quizzes are really simple as is the final, just know what he goes over in class, look over notes the night before, and you'll get an A.

his laughter cracked me up. it was a fun class.

Make sure you attend lecture because his tests are usually based on what was talked about in class. So take good notes! Tests were kinda hard because his lectures aren't very structured. Paper is not so bad. Really sweet professor and makes class fun. This class actually woke me up in the mornings.

He's so nice and so energetic and funny! Great guy and not bad to look at either. The class seems easier than it is, but it still wasn't very hard. His tests are a bit tricky and he frequently asks for volunteers and loves class discussion. I took it in the summer though, so everything was probably much easier.

great lecturer. do the reading. tests can be tricky cuz the questions aren't worded the best. hard grader.

he's really hard! dont take unless u want a life. seems really chill, but his tests are waaay hard and he grades really hard too! :-(

great lecturer. you can tell he knows his stuff and likes what he does. he's a REALLY HARD grader though. he has some crazy notion that if you do what is expected of you, it's only "C" material. i worked really hard and didn't get the grade i wanted at all. we've been taught that doing what's expected will get us a good grade but not with him.

Great teacher, made lectures really interesting. Is really laid back, but is a tough grader on papers. Tests are straightforward.

Funny guy but can be difficult

Walid is a good professor. It's hard to get an A in his class and he is a hard grader when it comes to papers, but his tests are completely fair. It's really important to go to his classes because 90% of test material is on stuff talked about in class. I enjoyed his enthusiasm and would take another class with him.

Great guy, interesting lectures. He gives great examples, but fails in explaining the core concepts the examples are illustrating. Hard paper grader. Expects a lot out of students with little/ambiguous instructions. Mutiple choice part of exams are easy, but he grades hard on the short/answer essay portion

Afifi is a nice guy with really interesting lectures. His class SEEMS really chill at first. But, he grades papers really hard-- i worked my ass off and he gave me a B-! The midterm is mostly multp. choice, one "short answer" which is more like write about everything we learned so far. cool guy, but u gotta put in lots of work even for a B!
