I LOVE him. Good luck finding another professor that care about their students more than Freund does. During the final I was asking a question and afterwards he check in with me to see if I feel ok about the test. It's so hard to believe ucsb doesnt make him a full time teacher.
Freud does a lot of example problems in class. He doesn't really explain the theory behind concepts and doesnt define variables. He changes the problems on the test so they're different from examples in class, so really understand the examples. Don't just try to memorize them. Try to understand the why because that's what will get you the A.
Best Physics professor at SB. The physics departments needs to make this guy a full-time professor and not jut the summer. He simplifies all the concepts so that bio majors like myself can actually understand and "enjoy" learning the topics
Great Professor. Definitely recommend taking any class he teaches. Tests are straight forward.

Ernest is an awesome teacher! I hated physics 6a, but he made the last two classes in the series bearable. he has fun demos and a fun guy to talk to outside of class. highly reccomended, although he won't be in sb anymore, which sucks.
he's so hot...i skipped a lot of classes but his...i went to every class meeting. This is the standard of being a professor, is to help generate interest in students to learn more. I'm already crazy about physics before i took his classes. Now I am feeling the excitement again. If I'll become a professor Ernest Freund is my role model!!!
Great Physics teacher - made class fun, interesting, and taught exactly what would be on the test. IF you can take him, it's the best opportunity for Physics 6B. He rocked. A+
Ernest is really a cool teacher. His demo is very interesting and I enjoyed his class. Tests are not very hard, just study the practice tests, you will do well.
Ernest is one of the few science teachers who actually made class fun. He gives very fair tests and a generous curve. Class is actually interesting with all his demos and such. Highly recommended! Also nice to look at ;)
Ernest is a good lookin dude. He's a fun professor also. One day we'll throw a physics party at some dude's house, and everyone will come, including Ernest. Hot dogs and beer for everyone!
He is a straight forward lecturer. He makes class more fun by bringing in demos. His tests are fair and clear. He's not so bad to look at either. :-)
Ernest completely got me INTO physics. I learned to LOVE physics because of the way he taught and because of his awesome demos. He's easy to talk to and you can even drink with him in I.V. or downtown. Thanks Ernest
Ernest is a hottie! Also a great professor, although I couldn't help staring at his biceps during lecture. At least it made me pay attention, when in other physics courses I fell asleep. He had great demos, and is a nice guy.
GOAT. Online class is even easier
I love Freund. I've had him the whole 6 series and he's just a good person. He cares about students, and is always upbeat about everything. He's also always facing pressure from the physics department to make his exams harder, so he tries to add Geller questions to exams. However, if you do well enough on his questions, you can still do well.
Freund has been my favorite professor by far. He truly wants his students to succeed and prepares them with engaging lectures and plenty of practice. Redoing quizzes, practice tests, and going to office hours with any questions you have will allow you to succeed in this course.
would sdssdsds
Freund is amazing and his lectures are very engaging. If you do the practice questions you will be fine on the exams. There are a lot of wee little quizzes for homework but they are not too bad. The demonstrations are so fun and I like how he also cannot stand how long lectures are.
The lectures are decent, but what makes Freund such a great professor is how clear and straightforward the course structure is. The practice problems for each module are nearly identical to the quiz and exam problems, and there are notes/videos on Canvas for each lecture topic.
Freund is the best physics prof. Physics lectures can get boring, but he does his best to keep everyone's attention by cracking jokes and doing demonstrations. His exams are easy, because they're like his homework quizzes and practice tests. He answers questions on his discussion forums frequently and whenever students have questions. Nice guy.
It's literally a Christmas miracle I passed this class I don't know how this happened. Don't get me wrong this man is my day 1 opp, but he did something magical to his curve to get me to pass. I could never make sense of what he was trying to say/teach, he would never produce a coherent thought or sentence. Bro has the worst ADHD I've ever seen
Freund is a sweetie pie and you can tell he cares but he also is super frantic and anxious and seems to struggle getting his ideas out in an understandable way. Chiller though
TLDR: Take Geller physics for easy A. When I got to UCSB, I was clueless about physics. Everyone else discussed energy while I was still learning kinematics. When I got one module, my peers were light-years ahead. I wanted to cry into my textbooks, but it was this demon called Achieve. All my friends in 6A with Geller had it easier than me. :(
