This is literally the worst teacher/professor I have ever had, in any subject ever, across all my 14 years of schooling. Absolutely atrocious. Do not take his class if there are any other options available. grading was 53% final, 20% midterm, 23% HW & 4% attendance. Going to lecture doesn't help since his handwriting and accent are comically awful

DO NOT TAKE THIS CLASS WITH RICK YE. took it bc he was the only professor teaching, but if I were you I'd skip math for a quarter to save yourself. Attendance mandatory but lectures are not helpful, never learned something useful after attending. His handwriting is atrocious, exams way harder than reviews and not what he taught you.

After reading the reviews and taking AP calc I thought I was prepared but little did I know. Attendance is mandatory 3 days a week at 9 am but his lectures confuse you more than help you. The tests are nothing like the homework and he provides no practice tests. He needs to never teach math again. Don't take his class.

peace and love literally the most delusional unorganized math teacher i've ever had. i took both ab and bc in high school and still struggled on his midterm because he picked all of the hardest possible problems and they were all trick questions. Seems like i nice man but nobody can follow a single train of thought he has yet alone read the board

bruh. did not take calculus in high school and had to take 34A and 34B with him too. its so bad I cant even begin to explain. stopped showing up to class because even when I did I had no clue what he was saying or doing because he will not introduce topics, he literally just starts writing stuff. wish I would've taken this class with another prof.

I can't not even explain how bad this teacher is. I can't understand him, he writes like a 2nd grader, he won't tell us how many/when our midterms are. There are no practice test. He puts in no effort to help you do well or learn. I actually like math but I have never dreaded a class more.

I am honestly livid. I took him for 34A last quarter and I will tell you right now you will not learn a single thing in lecture. Nothing he says makes sense because he reads from the textbook but never says what we are working on. EXTREMELY disorganized notes and I teach myself the material. I got a C in 34A, just barely passing.

NEVER take this professor, first day of class I couldn't understand what he was saying because of his very heavy accent and his handwriting is TERRIBLE. You have to rely on yourself to do your own work with YouTube videos or something cause this aint it fr. This man's laptop shuts down every 10 min like bro what the frick. I don't understand.

DO NOT TAKE THIS PROFESSOR UNLESS YOU ABSOLUTELY HAVE TO! Lectures are useless & seem to go on for years. There is no structure & nothing is explained. He just goes up there & rambles for an hour. If you do have to take this professor sign up for clas bc you will need it. Honestly, do not know how he is a professor. good luck if you take his class

Professor Ye is the most disorganized professor I have ever had. He had no consistent train of thought during lectures. The syllabus wasn't posted until at least two weeks into the quarter but I guess it didn't matter because I had to self-teach the whole class anyways. Midterm was easy, final was the hardest test I have taken. Avoid him if you can

Final was 53% of the grade. Do not take his class. You will have to go to CLAS and also teach yourself the math. Final was not like the homework. Also a lot of homework.

Worst class I've ever taken. professor couldn't teach, literally had 0 clue how to. assigned lots of hw, if you want to learn you to self teach the entire course. final worth over 50% of your grade. good luck to anyone who has this guy in the future.

There was a ton of homework and you have to teach yourself all the material because he only covers a small percentage of the course work and the lectures are not helpful. We were given good review material for the midterm but not for the final, which was much harder. During the final he realized half the test didn't print and a TA had to print more

I want to emphasize by what am I going to say…DO NOT TAKE THIS PROFESSOR CLASS BY ALL COSTS. My God not only you can barely understand what he is saying, he goes through examples in the textbook without even saying where he is at, and going through the problem he's disorganized and just mumbles throughout the process.

Teacher was a joke. Can barely understand his voice, jumps from random chapters, explains stuff the longest way possible. Had to self teach & do so much extra stuff to pass the class. Had to make lectures mandatory because no one showed up and the tas dont help either.

You get a sheet of paper for the midterm and final which was nice but considering I didn't learn anything, it was only fair. Do not take him!!!!!

you have to teach yourself but material is easy to understand if you use the textbook, his lectures are all over the place and you cant understand what hes saying. tests are also easy. midterm had 5 questions and they were pretty easy, could be done within 20 min if that.

only like 10-15% student showed up to lecture. just self teach. It's a skill you need in real workforce ig.

Very test heavy your whole grade is basically your midterm and final exam. Allows cheat sheet. You have to teach yourself the material. Very disorganized and hard to sometimes understand him. TA also not helpful. If possible do not take a math class with this man.

Do not take a class with him if he is the professor. Although he seems nice, he is not a great teacher. He is super unorganized during lectures, and it can be hard to understand him at times. During this course, I have been basically teaching myself the material. My advice is just to stay away at all costs.

this class is okay if you're a self learner. not a big fan of him as a lecturer/teacher, but it's definitely passable if you put in effort. never came to class beyond the first one, but did all the homework problems and he gives you a 8.5x11 front and back cheatsheet. his notes are sloppy/all over the place lol grading is 20% hw 30% mid 50% final

Lectures were heavy on proofs, and the way that the math was explained was very confusing (His notes did not read top down, left to right, they were absolutely EVERYWHERE). I think that Prof Ye is a nice man, but NOT a good lecturer. Would not recommend if you want to actually learn math. You do get a cheat sheet for tests, but it didn't help me.
