He was very helpful and clear with his sections. Very easy to approach and wouldn't mind having him as a TA again.
Nice fellow
Matt was extremely helpful and was very calm and collected in his approach to teaching us the fundamentals of math concepts. He explained things in a very logical and conceptually understandable way, and I would recommend him as a teacher or TA for any of my math-related classes. Thank you Matt.
Has his heart in the right place, but rather difficult to understand at times; I still did well in the class though
I previously had issues with Calculus but Matt was able to really help me understand it.
Matt was very helpful in my section and in office hours. One day I came to his office an hour earlier than usual and he didn't mind helping me. He was one of the most patients TA's I've had. As I moved on to higher math classes, where Matt wasn't a TA, he would still help me when I asked him questions.
Matt was a good TA, he made it easy to understand the concepts of finding the area or volume of areas rotated around certain axis and he was patient.
Nice dude who was able to take some of the more difficult concepts of linear algebra and dumb them down, so to speak. Enjoyed his teaching in sections, always had good and relevant examples.
I had him for what is now math 6A. Very knowledgeable and nice guy and really helped explain everything to the class. Would love to take another class with him.
Hard class but CLAS helps
Nice guy. Helpful. 10/10
Matt helped make confusing topics understandable during section. Our professor during lecture was unable to connect with students, so it was nice to have someone who could actually communicate with us. Also super accommodating to my schedule! When I had to miss a section, I was able to make it up later that day with no penalty.
Matt's really good at breaking down the concepts and explaining them in clear terms. Definitely helped my grade out in this respect.
Vey helpful TA and easy to understand.
Best math professor in ucsb.
Cool guy, his teaching style is very clear.
Challenging class but professor makes sure everything is clarified . (:
Very nice guy and always open to helping and answering questions
Explained the material well and then would test on the things that were lectured, no tricks, made everything really clear cut, very knowledgeable and easy to ask questions. Always came in prepared and organized.
Matt was a great TA, definitely helped clear up stuff that was difficult and lecture. Very clear and knowledgeable as well. Going to office hours with Matt is what got me an A.
Quite possibly the greatest math teacher I've ever had. And that's the weird thing, he doesn't DO anything special... he just really knows how to explain things clearly and concisely. Doesn't BS his way through lectures, just delivers an explanation of multivariable calculus that could be grasped even by a five year old. I don't exaggerate.
Very helpful and wants you to succeed. Easily ask questions and anything else you need, he's got you.
Matt is extremely helpful and was a godsend in a math class taught by a foreign professor who made absolutely no sense in lecture.
The class was not following the textbook at all, and the teacher was going off on random tangents, but Matt helped make everything clear in section. Really the only way to learn the material was by going to section
