Awesome class!! I dont think he is a harsh grader, I think he is a fair. If you do the work then you're good, that's how you learn.
Unbelievable professor. The class is more like a philosophy + business writing class. TRULY cares about his students. You will learn a TON of useful information from this class, most of which can be used outside of school and in the workplace.
Professor Cotich is a really down to earth guy but he grades like a perfectionist. He docks off points for the smallest things, such as missing commas. He doesn't explain any of the assignments very well and you are basically on your own for the big group project. Honestly, I did get what the point in having a teacher is for this class.
Great professor!! Very helpful & interactive with students!...You will learn a lot in his class while having fun. For non-native English speaker, go to CLAS fix your paper, he will give you extra credit...I loved the class. ^^
This was one of the best classes i have taken at UCSB, and very useful. Jeff keeps you entertained with his daily comics, and teaches pracitical skills such as editing, resumes, memos, etc. This was one class that I would always attend because I loved it so much. Im a Bio major at LOVED this global studies class!
WRIT 109EC : This is the only class from my four years of college that stuck with me. I'm 5 years out of school. The information and inspiration Jeff taught me has changed my life. I was riding my bike home from the last day of his class and set my bike down and cried; this class moved me. My only regret is that I didn't invest more of myself.
WRIT109ED- Awesome, awesome, awesome class. Awesome teacher. If you have interest in teaching, definitely take this class.
The most useful class I have taken and the best professor to take it with. If you ever have the chance to take a class with Hanson, do it! You will be glad you did.
Fought really, really hard to make us understand and to make class interesting. Tough grader, but great teacher.

Cotich is by far the worst teacher I've had at UCSB. He hardly explains the assignments, grades really harshly, and then doesn't give you back your work until the end of the quarter. Taking his class was the worst mistake I've made at UCSB.
Craig is super fun and great teacher. Very friendly, so go to his office hours because they will totally make a difference on your essay. He will tell you what to fix in order for it to be good. He always says cheesy jokes so just laugh it off.
LOVE LOVE LOVE him!! He is such a great teacher and truly cares about the students. Really interesting because of him! Is very helpful and the class is only made up of papers. Let him look at yours before and it will benefit you greatly. HIGHLY recommend. The best professor ive had!
Craig is pretty much the best UCSB so far, and I'm graduating next quarter. He really has a passion for writing, is super nice and peppy, and wants every student to succeed. I've taken 3 classes with him and recommend you do the same! You won't regret it!
Great teacher, makes grammar fun (i never thought it possible). The writing assignments are super creative, in class work is really helpful, and the tests are easy if you do the readings (which are really short). He is a fair grader and loves to help his students.

Craig is an amazing teacher and I really enjoyed his class. You can tell he is enthusiatic about what he teaches and genuinely cares about the student. Going to office hours really helps and will make a difference in your paper. You will not be sorry you took this class, I'm glad I took it.
Craig is a fantastic writing teacher. Your grade is made up of 3 essays, so be sure to try your best on each and every one of them. He allows you to re-write your graded papers so it greatly benefits your grade. Going to his office hours helps a great deal. Show up for class and you'll be fine.

One of the best professors I had since attending UCSB, very helpful, offers useful advice in class as well as life in general. Has a cool sense of humor. Grades hard at times, a lot of work, but overall a really great professor!

Very practical course, it is tough to get good grade but EVERYTHING u learn is SO handy and useful for the rest of life. You'll NEED this course to survive in REAL world. Ther is quite an amt of work, but result is VERY sweet and rewardin. HE is great to talk to, lecture is NEVER boring. Relax and start ur proposal ASAP...seriously, start early!
Craig is soooooo awesome, and he is sooooooo adorable. He really tries to get you involved and it seems he really enjoys teaching. He is super cute too.
