I have never been more offended by an academic professional than I have by Professor Low. I'm in her nutrition class and she literally LAUGHED when talking about how some people need to get surgery to help with obesity. She is not sympathetic at all and makes people feel crappy if they're not in perfect shape and eating vegan. -5000/10

I find this woman's lectures to be so impossible to get thru. Like she's one of those professors whose literal voice irks u by the end of the quarter. She doesn't know how to explain concepts to make them easy 2 follow. She'll go on for way too long in lecture just to say "ok," flip the slide, & confuse tf out of u. She ignores raised hands too lol

This class made me very interested on the topic of nutrition. The class is pretty easy, everything on the test is on the slides. I thought the questions on the test were fair. It is also curved so that also helped my grade. Reading the book also helps but anything tested on will be on the slides so its not necessary.

Online txbk portal thing you only use for extra credit, but it helped me a lot. Paragraph summaries on articles each week. Quiz in section every week, review material before. Tests are graded harshly. Lectures are put online before class, I recommend printing them and taking notes on the slides, she moves fast. Low is funny and easy to understand.

It's a fairly interesting class but not easy. After studying for the midterm/final you may think you know everything but questions will appear that you've never seen in your life. I would always score much lower than I expected so be prepared to study a ton. Other than that she's really funny and very educated on the topic.

Really funny. Class doesn't count for any GEs besides basically units but Low cares about and loves teaching. Lectures are posted online so never went to class. Memorize lectures to do well on section quizzes and you will do well. Basically memorization. Short answer and multiple choice tests.

its a great ge to take while trying to balance difficult classes. Dr. Low is funny and sweet. My ta was awesome and section only lasted around 10 min each week. I would take this class again!

Low is mildly funny and has good lectures. Sh posts them on line with less detail but lectures aren't mandatory. Sections have a quiz every week which make attendance matter. Sections also have summaries due weekly but they are only a page and very easy. Overall the class was very interesting and I enjoyed it.

Go to class and highlight the things she says twice! That is what will be on the midterm and test. Memorize the PowerPoints; I suggest making notecards and studying those. Make them every week and study them before the quiz in section. If you don't like your TA the 1st day then switch! Answer all ?s she gives for summary so you get max points.

This class consists of a lot of memorization, however the content is pretty straight-forward. The lectures are long but she was really entertaining and would sometimes let us out early.

Surprisingly entertaining, considering the subject. It's all memorization, and her tests can be tricky, but if you spend some time going through her powerpoints online, you'll do well.

The class was fairly boring, but Dr. Low kept it entertaining with her jokes. She is a solid teacher. You don't need to come to class because everything that is on the test is on her slides. The tests are pretty challenging though, so do study!

This class is okay. Sometimes cool and interesting, sometimes dull. Slides are posted online, and don't need textbook at all. She makes a lot of little jokes that are really funny. Overall, the tests are very fair, yet detailed oriented. Quiz during each section and an easy, peer graded essay. Solid choice for a GE, but don't expect an easy A.

i truly loved this class- one of my favorites. It's a hard class and you have to make it a priority if you want to do well but if you're interested in nutrition its super interesting. Prof is HILARIOUS and makes lots of little jokes. all her slides go up on gauchospace so you can go back and review. She's incredibly thorough and very fair.

She was pretty funny in class but her tests are designed to trick you and she doesn't give study guides are anything. Definitely study off the lectures and not the book.

I did the bare minimum and passed, but tbh it was my past biology knowledge and the curve that saved me. This is a difficult class for PBS majors bc it requires gen chem levels of studying which a lot of people don't realize until it's too late. Drill the textbook.

Quizzes and practice exams are NOTHING like the actual exams. The exams are very difficult and be prepared to be tested on topics that are only covered in the textbook or briefly in lecture. Lectures are also very dense in material. The article summaries are an actual assignment that counts for credit, not extra credit like she makes it seem.

insanely difficult exams, and it's just so much material. she vaguely goes over stuff and then adds them to the exam. she's not as bad as ruth, however combined for this course they're no help. the weeder course is definitely weeding. I went to all the lectures, to CLAS, and rewatched ALL her videos, and I still bombed her midterm. boo introbioteam

I'm typically an A/B+ student but I had to withdraw from this course after the first two midterms were graded so difficultly that I was going into the final with a D+. The worst part is, when I asked her about my exams that I felt were marked down incorrectly, she took away MORE POINTS from other questions on my tests and my grade went down more.

She wasn't as bad as some people had said she was but she wasn't great either. The entire grade is based on exams, and she wants extremely specific answers to her test questions. She goes over the material so fast but all lectures were recorded so you can rewatch them whenever needed.

Honestly her slides and her lecturing for 1B isn't horrible. She does move fast and you definitely have to utilize the recordings because she moves quickly. However, if you go to her office hours and talk to her after lecture she's very dismissive and does not do a good job answering questions at all. Not approachable at all.
