NEVER TAKE HER CLASS. In the midst of a pandemic not only did she not curve the curve the class, she implemented a negative curve, I don't eve know how or why, people with 95% got an A-. Her grading scale is useless and she is not upfront about it. Wait her out if u care about ur GPA

Absolute worst professor. Explains relatively nothing during lecture so you are expected to learn all of the material on your own. TA was little to no help. Midterm and homework grades were not given back until the week before the final so you had no idea how you were doing in the course. Very particular when grading for midterm/final.

Her lectures are very vague. She seems like she doesn't care about teaching because she has a "whatever" attitude and approach to the subject. Absolutely need the book to do well. Midterm averages are F's (luckily she curves). I would avoid her if possible; she made electromagnetism more complicated than it needed to be.

Lectures were often canceled and when they weren't Ania tends to be opaque in her explanations of concepts. Reading the textbook is a must in order to do well, but doing that alone can probably get a B at least. A lot of formulas to know, but allowed formula sheets. Not the best professor, but not bad either.

She was really kind and helpful during office hours.

Significantly longer than exams given by other professors who teach Physics 3. A final exam of 39 MC and 4 (really 6, couple had unrelated parts) FRQ questions is pretty lengthy for this series. Her teaching was nothing extraordinary. Exam averages were F's, often required formulas memorized or derived, at times with understanding of multivar calc.

Jayich is a great professor and tries to make a very hard subject more understandable. The tests are tough so make sure you don't fall behind in class. There are weekly quizzes to make sure you're understanding the material.

Ania Jayich is an inspiration to all physics professors. While her lectures are sometimes disjointed or opaque, her passion and desire to reach her students is transparent. She is always willing to discuss the material and takes student input into consideration when designing her class. Do not miss the opportunity to take a class from Ania Jayich.

Who needs God when you have Ania Jayich? Around here we have a saying: Jayich on Saturdays, Jesus on Sundays (just kidding, more like Jayich on every day that ends with a Y)!

Where do I begin with how much Prof Jayich changed my life? I was struggling on the streets, living day to day, and addicted to all sorts of substances I should not have been near. That all changed the day I walked into Ania Jayich's class. Now, I am a successful multi-millionaire who has completely turned my life around. Thank you Ania Jayich!

The best professor I've ever had at UCSB. Her lectures are intellectually stimulating and I never missed class her lectures were so great. Never a dull moment with Ania Jayich around! Great at getting concepts across, and always available. She changed my life and made me LOVE physics! She is a real role model and something to aspire to.
