terrible class. there was no guidance as to what the heck we were supposed to read and or memorize for the exams. it was hodge-podge with the slides being basically useless. take another acct elective
There was alot of material to know, and he gave very little guidance as to what we needed to study. He did not do a good job in 132.
I had himfor 136A and this class is much more difficult. He says he wants to prepare us for the CPA exam and I think he did that. He knows a LOT about audit and brings a lot of real-world into the class. Not an easy class, but I think it is worth it to learn for the CPA exam.
I don't know whether summer does give an excuse, but Anderson is not being resposible for the class. There are tons of stuff to memorize. Anderson always skips all the slides, and I don't know which I need to study and which I don't. He said the final is not cummulative, but I can find stuff that are from the previous exam in the final.
Would not recommend!
A true proessor...probably one of the few that challenge me. Students don't realize that he actually goes beyond teaching and tries to prepare you for the real world. 10 years later i still remember when he told me " you will earn your grade"

He is a very straight forward guy and tells you what he expects. Class is kind of boring but that's the material. He can be very random and tell weird jokes and stories. He has a lot of outside experience about accounting. I liked his class and the midterm and final are easier than Harmon's.Quizes are not bad if you read the chapter before.Cool guy
Easy class if you do the work and read. Classes can be boring, but he's been through the system before and he tries to help students through it as best he can. Overall pretty good teacher.
Anderson is a great professor. He is very clear in presenting the material and VERY straight forward on the tests. His tests are 50% MC and 50% problems. He pretty much tells you what the problems are throughout lecture. MC is easy if u read the chapters enough times. Would definatly recommend!
Best professor i've taken at UCSB. Down to earth. Rides a long board to class. Tests are 50/50 multi choice/workout problems. MC is harder than problems if you prepare. Very fair. Funny stories and makes Acctg interesting. I would even suggest taking his Hnrs section even if your not in hnrs.
He is a very easy going guy.
Anderson is a great guy, the type you hope your boss will be. lectures are about as good as accounting lectures can be. I felt lost on tests, no practice tests and the form on exams look nothing like lectures. Also, focus the HW a little, giving suggest problems 1-30 skipping 18 is not helpful.
easy to talk to
This guy is great. He is interested in the material, so he is a fascinating teacher. Lots of fun in class, and difficult but fair tests. He constantly messes up his examples and slides in class, but it is not a big deal because some nerd always corrects him and he fixes it.
this guy's great. best professor i've had.
Great teacher. He responds quickly to emails and you can call him if you have any questions. Midterm/Final are pretty fair. You know what to expect for the problem portion, but the multiple choice is sometimes tricky (worth 50 percent of midterm/final)
He says to call him "Bob" which is like his approach- friendly and personable. The content is boring, but he makes it fun and interesting. He is the best professor I have had at UCSB despite the fact that he insists that he is not a "pro

Very clear and presents in a way that is very understandable. He is very approachable and makes a would be boring class pretty interesting. He really seems to care about whether we learn and that makes his class interesting. AND he is nice to look at!
