Attaining research funding through grant proposals is an important part of an academic career path. This "Grantspersonship" course seeks to expose students to the intricacies of academic grant writing through hands-on and guided preparation of the individual components that make up a full research proposal. Students will learn to identify suitable funding opportunities, collaborators/mentors, prepare diversity/personal/teaching statements, and develop a research proposal. Discussion will emphasize elements of preparinga research grant that are transferable for academic & non-academic careers.By the end of the quarter, successful students will have prepared a full research grant of their choosing.

Prerequisites: Graduate standing in PBS or DYNS
